About 100 letters containing a suspicious white powder were sent to Republican members of the Kansas Legislature, and the KS Attorney General over the weekend. Letters addressed to President Trump, and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, among other high-profile people were intercepted by the USPS prior to delivery.
Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach (R), Kansas House Speaker Carrie Rahfaldt (R), Kansas State Senator Molly Baumgardner (R) and State Rep Tory Blew (R) all revealed that they also received the letters. The letters included the return address of a local church, which was a ruse so the Republicans would open them.
As of Sunday June 18, approximately 100 letters containing suspicious white powder have been received across the state of Kansas. A small sample of the letters containing powder was sent to a laboratory that specializes in testing biological samples.
Preliminary tests have returned from this lab indicating the substance is presumptively negative for common biological agents of concern. Further and more complete testing will be conducted on this sample, as well as on additional letters that have been collected, in an effort to determine the components of the substance.” Kansas Bureau of Investigation Facebook Post
“This is not okay. I’m very thankful for our first responders — words can’t describe my gratitude after this event.” KS State Rep Tory Blew
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The letter itself contained sarcastic comments:
“It is important not to choke on your ambition.” The letter was described as a “gift” by someone who signed it as “Your Secret Despirer.” (Nice of them to include other languages in their attempt to manipulate Republicans.)
The letters came as Kansas Republicans have over-ridden Democrat Governor Laura Kelly’s vetoes 9 times so far this year. Intimidation will not work with them.
“It was very deliberate, very intentional to get us to open the letters…There’s a question whether maybe it’s related to some of those vetoes that we overrode. It’s really terrifying to think that because of someone’s political beliefs that they can be a target…Violence and acts of violence and threats do absolutely nothing, nothing to change one’s perspective. As a matter of fact, that strengthens the resolve of myself and my colleagues and of our party to continue the work that we’re doing.” Kansas Rep. Stephen Owns (R)
This is just one example of the tactics of the radical left. Their violence targets all of us who refuse to espouse the agendas being presented. It’s important to pay close attention to your surroundings, your mail, and those near you when in a crowd. For our Republican Legislators, their daily fights with leftists will continue to spill over into the lives of regular folks. They cannot let their guard down at any time. And neither can we.
