Winning – Supreme Court Upholds Trump Travel Ban, Dems Scream Racism

On Tuesday morning, the US Supreme Court upheld the Trump Administration’s travel ban on persons from Iran, North Korea, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Venezuela. In a 5-4 ruling, the court said that the latest version is more detailed and “squarely” within the President’s authority to ban entry to the United States when it’s deemed to be in the public interest. Dems are having a temper tantrum.

travel ban

For the last 15 months, the travel ban has been called a “Muslim ban”  by liberals and constantly blocked by lower courts. The first ban was blocked immediately. The second one again was blocked, but the Supreme Court allowed it to be in place. It expired before it was fully reviewed by the Supreme Court.  The third one now has been ruled Constitutional. This ruling puts to rest the issue: the President can ban travel from countries which he has deemed are a threat to the United States.

This third ban maintains limits on granting visas to travelers from five of the seven countries covered by the original executive order on travel — Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen. It lifts restrictions on visitors from Sudan, and it adds new limits on North Korea and Venezuela. Iraq and Chad were originally in the ban, but have been removed.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Please note the term “limits” – in other words, granting visas to persons from those countries has restrictions, but does not preclude granting them. Liberals and Democrats carefully ignore those statements in favor of shrieking “racism” at the top of their lungs.

Democrats are literally having a meltdown over the ruling.

Democrats decrying 5-4 ruling upholding Trump travel ban. Both Durbin and Blumenthal decried the ruling and Blumenthal promised an effort to try to overturn the ruling legislatively.

We’re disappointed by the SCOTUS ruling on Trump’s travel ban. Discriminating based on race, religion, gender, or faith is not who we are as Americans. As we head into November, we will keep fighting for the inclusive, compassionate, and welcoming country we know America is.

JUST IN: ACLU responds to Supreme Court’s travel ban decision.

“This is not the first time the Court has been wrong, or has allowed official racism and xenophobia to continue rather than standing up to it.” https://t.co/OWFn4bZOOl pic.twitter.com/djL3kY2IWr

By ignoring Trump’s own words showing prejudicial motivation, SCOTUS travel ban decision just set dangerous and long-term legal precedent to protect expressly racist and discriminatory public policies.

The #TravelBan was never about national security. It was – and will go down in history as – a prime example of the bigotry that animates @realDonaldTrump policies. https://t.co/Ka2fpCgoAp
