It has long been the belief that in America, the media should be free to cover events as they choose, and not be subject to government intrusion, as they are in many totalitarian countries. The White House apparently missed that part of a civics or even history class. Spokesman for the White House counsel’s office Ian Sams is reportedly planning to send a letter to the heads of major news organizations that tells them to “scrutinize Republicans” who have launched an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. (Daily Caller). A draft of the letter was given to CNN, who promptly fell right onboard with the idea.
Classic manipulation of the truth to “scrutinize Republicans.”
“It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies…an impeachment inquiry with no supporting evidence should set off alarm bells for news organizations…
“Covering impeachment as a process story – Republicans say X, but the White House says Y – is a disservice to the American public who relies on the independent press to hold those in power accountable.
“And in the modern media environment, where every day liars and hucksters peddle disinformation and lies everywhere from Facebook to Fox, process stories that fail to unpack the illegitimacy of the claims on which House Republicans are basing all their actions only serve to generate confusion, put false premises in people’s feeds, and obscure the truth.” Ian Sams letter (CNN)
CNN claims their coverage of the Trump situation was truthful, and “no evidence” of Biden wrongdoing has been forwarded. Just bank records and reports, tapes of phone calls, testimony of witnesses… you know, no evidence. The DOJ refusal to grant Congressional access to two FBI agents as part of the investigation into IRS Whistleblowers’ testimony doesn’t help the way this looks, although they claimed the agents were still involved in the investigation into Hunter, so they would not comply with subpoenas.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The letter is reportedly being sent to CNN, The New York Times, Fox, The Associated Press, CBS, etc. and the heads of other large news organizations. We wonder how they like being used.
As we are aware, the White House has amassed a team of aides, lawyers, and communication experts to attempt to rebuff any narratives against the current geriatric resident of the “people’s house.” This letter to demand scrutiny of Republicans will likely be just the opening salvo. It’s coming, America. The opening of an impeachment inquiry was a trigger for what is to come. We could dodge a fast-moving bullet easier than this pile of s*** being slung our way.
