VP Pence was set to fly to New Hampshire on July 2, when his trip was abruptly cancelled. He hadn’t even made it off the tarmac. You would think that by now, the government would know that if they don’t tell the public what’s going on, people will make things up. And that’s exactly what happened.

At nearly exactly the same time as VP Pence was supposed to leave, word came that a Russian Submarine disaster killed 14 sailors on July 1. Putin called an emergency meeting with his Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, which fueled some hefty speculation.
First there was the theory that Russia “scuttled” a US submarine with a “Balkan 2000” torpedo near Alaska. And we fought back, which killed those 14 Russian sailors. WWIII was imminent. Only there’s no mention of a “Balkan 2000” torpedo anywhere. Highly unlikely that even weapons sites or intelligence sites would not mention that type of weapon.
Then there was the theory that NATO had attacked the Russian submarine with a “Hornet’s Nest Tactic” in an operation called “Mongoose.” They tried to use General David Goldfein’s release of what would happen in a nuclear attack as the proof of that incident.
Only…”The Hornet’s Nest” is a 2014 documentary movie about the Afghanistan War. Or a large, aggressive bee that attaches its paper nest to your house or trees, and stings right through your shirt. (Ouch, get that nest!). Operation Mongoose was a secret operation that attempted to remove Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. It failed. So…?
The theory that the Losharik was sent to “kill the internet” by cutting the undersea cables was out there as well. The fact is that 14 Russian Sailors died in a horrible fire aboard the secret Losharik submarine. It IS a secret submarine, and may not have been just ‘gathering samples’ on the seafloor. But for now, too much speculation and too many theories can do more harm than good.

President Trump did not tweet about the ’emergency’ that day which caused the VP Pence trip to be cancelled. Since we are aware of his usual pattern of hinting at things, it seemed odd that he mentioned nothing.
He was asked by a reporter on July 5 about the reason for the cancellation, and all he said was “you’ll know in about 2 weeks.”
“You’ll know in about two weeks. A very interesting problem that they had in New Hampshire. That I can’t tell you about. But it had nothing to do with the White House. There was a problem up there. And I won’t go into what the problem was but you’ll see in about a week or two.” President Trump
The government’s use of “I won’t go into that now,” or “I can’t tell you about it” is always the thing that causes people to run with whatever thing they get into their minds. I guess we’ll just have to wait for the mention in two weeks. It’s one of the oddest occurrences in recent memory- a Vice President being called back to the White House so abruptly. But since we’re still here and the Salute to America July 4th celebration went off well, it probably wasn’t an imminent WWIII.H/T Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children
