On Tuesday night, gun rights advocates showed up in droves to the Virginia Beach City Council meeting to take a stand for protecting their 2nd amendment rights. So many gun rights advocates showed up that the building quickly reached capacity and people had to stand outside.
Inside, the second amendment sanctuary movement was being discussed even though it was not on the council agenda.
WTKR reported,
Many people were wearing “Guns Save Lives” stickers at the rally.
Leaders with the group Virginia Citizens Defense League say they don’t want gun control imposed on law-abiding gun owners. President Philip Van Cleave and Executive Member Brendan Mooney addressed the passionate crowd.
Former Congressman Scott Taylor was among the supporters.
“I feel very strongly, very deeply about protecting the Second Amendment right,” said Taylor. This is indicative about people who care about their Second Amendment rights. I guarantee you there are Republicans, Independents, Democrats, people who aren’t politically active but want to protect their families and their property, and that is why they are here and you are seeing this across the Commonwealth.”
The tsunami of 2nd amendment sanctuaries came about due to the radical anti-gun plans of the new Democrat majority in the Virginia legislature. But former Congressman Taylor made reference to people who weren’t politically active- is that was caused this mess in the first place? Did Republicans just not care enough and stayed home the night of the election? If so, it’s a harsh reminder that not voting can cause unintended results. Keep in mind that Bloomberg’s money drove this election in Virginia.

Also present at the Virginia Beach City council meeting were representatives of Moms Demand Action, one of whom defiantly said the gun control agenda was going forward and would come before the legislature.
“We are here tonight to talk to our duly-elected officials, our city council to let them know we are watching, and the Virginians here have spoken and voters have spoken and gun safety legislation will go forward to the General Assembly to be debated as it should.” Sibel Galindez, Moms Demand Action
The gun-grabber groups also go to council meetings, and no, that agenda has nothing whatsoever to do with “gun safety.” In this case, they were outnumbered, but Democrats could care less about that. They have power, and they want to keep it, the Constitution be damned.
