Video: What did Sheila Jackson Lee give to Ford attorney? Social media explodes with questions, speculation
During a lunch break in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Christine Blasey Ford, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, approached Michael Bromwich, one of the attorneys representing Ford, and handed him an envelope which he placed in his right lapel pocket.
The exchange happened quickly and with a degree of discretion, but was captured on video and quickly made its way to social media, prompting a considerable buzz.
Here’s the video as posted to YouTube:
The exchange also managed to make its way to Twitter:

Good question.
Others wondered about it as well:

An article at the Post and E-Mail notes:
Bromwich represents fired FBI Deputy Dir. Andrew McCabe, allegations of dishonesty about whom are currently reportedly under review by a federal grand jury.
As of 12:40 PM EDT, when the lunch break began, Bromwich was by far the most vocal of the three attorneys accompanying Ford to the hearing, including objecting to Ford’s being asked a question which he believed violated attorney-client privilege.
On Sunday evening, Bromwich announced on Twitter that he was joining Ford’s current legal team of Katz, Marshall & Banks, LLP and thereby resigning from his position at another law firm due to its members’ objections to his participating in the closely-watched case.
A post at the Conservative Treehouse asked:“The Payoff”?
Who knows… It could be any number of things, including suggested talking points or an invitation to a congressional event. Maybe Jackson Lee wants Ford to appear at a fundraiser. Regardless of what it may be, there’s no question that social media will be talking about it for some time…
