Video of the Day: Biden Claims Half The Population Of The U.S. Killed By Gun Violence Since 2007

During Tuesday night’s Democrat debate, the gaffe machine known as Joe Biden did it again, this time claiming that 150 million people — roughly half the population of the United States — has been killed by gun violence.

“Imagine if I said we give immunity to drug companies, we give immunity to tobacco companies. That has caused carnage on our streets. One hundred and fifty million people have been killed since 2007 when Bernie voted to exempt the gun manufacturers from liability. More than all the wars,” he screamed during the clown show…

Don’t just take our word for it — here’s video:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The Washington Examiner explained:

That number, if it were true, would be significant as the Census Bureau estimated the U.S. population was 329.45 million in 2019. Fewer than40,000 people died in gun-related deaths in 2017, which was the highest total since at least 1968, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Biden campaign told the Washington Examiner, “He meant 150k. He’s used that line multiple times before.”

Another post at the Examiner tells us that anti-gun Democrats are prone to using false or misleading information:

Of course, Biden may not have meant to spread misinformation to millions of debate viewers. Maybe he meant 150,000, and it was just a slip-up, as the mentally declining, aging candidate is increasingly prone to do. But we must realize that Democrats regularly push such disinformation on gun control.

The Examiner goes on to explain:

Anti-gun activists also routinely use imaginary or misleading language in the gun debate. As (Becket) Adams notes, there is no such thing as “rapid-fire magazines” or “gas-assisted receiver firearms,” and it is not, in fact, easier to buy an AK-47 than it is to buy cough medicine.

All of this is to say, Biden’s debate stage error about half the U.S. population dying from guns isn’t just one gaffe in a vacuum — it’s standard Democratic fare when talking about guns.

Bingo…
