Update on Shooting at Texas Church: Hero Engaged Gunman

As the suspect entered the Texas church and opened fire, a local resident grabbed his rifle and engaged the shooter with gunfire. As he did that, the shooter ran from the scene and jumped in his vehicle. The local resident is a hero for trying to save the rest of the victims and engaging the suspect. He pursued the suspect until the suspect landed off road in a field.

Texas authorities have identified the Texas church shooting suspect as Devin Patrick Kelley, 26. They stated that at a press conference that the confirmed number dead is 26, with ages ranging from 5 to 72. Twenty-three of the victims were found inside the church, 2 outside, one deceased at the  hospital. The condition of the other victims is unknown.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The shooter was dressed in all black, and had a tactical vest on. The gun he used was a Ruger AR platform, according to the Texas DPS.  They stated there were numerous weapons in the suspect’s car.

When police arrived the suspect was deceased inside the vehicle. It is unknown whether the local resident killed him or it was self-inflicted.

Shooter’s Social Media

“I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.” Mark Twain quote found on Kelley’s Facebook page

The shooter’s Facebook page was deleted, but screenshots were obtained by media. On his Linkedin page, he said he “lived by the Air Force values” and had briefly taught Vacation Bible School… very briefly, just one session.

On Facebook, he also liked several atheist pages and appeared to be linked with Antifa.

In Antifa groups was this gem:

Kelley had a closed Facebook group called Devin Kelley’s Family Friendly Shooting Gallery that sported 1.4K members. At least it MAY have been his group. It’s also possible someone changed the profile picture and group name after the shooting.

Devin Kelley was court-martialed 3 years ago and dishonorably discharged from the Air Force. It was likely illegal for him to own firearms.

If Devin Kelley was dishonorably discharged from military it would mean he couldn’t have legally bought a gun. It’s same as a felony pic.twitter.com/nZITFHhdzn

The inevitable left wing response

Of course, never mind whether it was legal or not, or whether the guy was a lunatic or not, or whether the local resident may have saved many more lives than were taken by engaging the shooter,  the left was all about blaming the NRA for the shooting. Twitchy reported that Joy Reid stated that NRA members were “soaked and bathed in blood.”

Fortunately, smarter Twitter users took her out immediately.
