Unnamed ‘conservative leader’ reportedly claims Hillary may cancel debate

Clinton cancel debateCiting an unnamed “conservative leader,” Jim Hoft wrote at the Gateway Pundit Wednesday morning that Democrat Hillary Clinton may cancel the upcoming presidential debate in an apparent bid to run out the clock.

“Hearing smart guys say that Hillary may cancel the debate on Monday … Hillary may be trying to run out the clock because she thinks she is ahead,” Hoft said he was told.

“Or,” Hoft added, “she may be exhausted and scared of another physical emergency.”

On Tuesday, he said, Clinton canceled her campaign fundraiser in North Carolina with no explanation.  According to WRAL, the campaign cited a “change in the campaign schedule but did not specify what the change was.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

And, Hoft observed, she canceled several events after her collapse on 9/11.

If Hillary doesn’t attend, a post at Young Conservatives said, it certainly won’t make her look any better.

John S. Roberts added:

She’ll appear even more weak and feckless than ever before.

Now, Gateway Pundit has basically morphed into a Trump fansite and has been that way from over a year.

But that doesn’t mean they’re peddling false information. I have no doubt a big name contacted them with this scoop.

Ultimately though, we have to assume this is just an unsubstantiated rumor.

But it’s a rumor that is already making the rounds on Twitter:

Then we found this:

Roberts is right — at this point, it’s just an unsubstantiated rumor.  Nevertheless, it’s not outside the realm of possibility given what’s happened so far.  And if she does cancel the debate, she may as well call it quits and go home for good…
