Unhinged: Michael Moore thinks U.S. a liberal country, demands leftists ‘put our bodies on the line’ to resist Trump — Video

Did wealthy filmmaker Michael Moore incite more violence and hate?  While appearing on Thursday’s edition of the Late Show, Moore told host Stephen Colbert that the United States is a liberal country and said fellow Trump-haters must “put our bodies on the line” to take the president out.

“We don’t have to be violent, we have to remain non-violent, but if the worst that happens to anybody in the Trump administration is that they don’t get to have a chicken dinner in Virginia, I mean, I don’t know,” Moore said. “But that’s not what’s going on now. We’re not talking about political differences. We’re talking about thousands of children being kidnapped and put in jails.”

Kidnapped?  Really?

Just so you know, here’s a legal definition of kidnapping:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

A crime at common law consisting of an unlawful restraint of a person’s liberty by force or show of force so as to send the victim into another country. Under modern law, this crime will usually be found where the victim is taken to another location or concealed.

In some jurisdictions, kidnapping accompanied by bodily injury, sexual assault, or a demand for ransom elevates the crime to first-degree or aggravated kidnapping. Although the terms kidnapping and abduction are, at times, used interchangeably, abduction is broader, generally not requiring the threat or use of force.

Moore had quite a bit more to say, falsely claiming that Trump plans to stay in the White House for life.

“He plans to be reelected, he loves the term ‘president for life.’ The only way that we’re going to stop this is eventually we’re all going to have to put our bodies on the line. You’re going to have to be willing to do this,” he said.

He also called Trump a “sociopath” who presents a “singular threat to humanity,” and claimed Republicans would never win the White House if there were no Electoral College.

Moore went even further, claiming that America is a “very liberal country.”

“The majority of Americans are very liberal. They take the liberal position on most issues. They believe women should be paid same as men, they believe there is climate change, they don’t believe people should be thrown in jail for smoking marijuana. The majority of Americans are liberal and we the Democrats have won the presidency, popular vote, in six of the last seven presidential elections,” he said. “The Republicans have only won once since 1988—in 2004, with Bush, that’s the only time they’ve won the popular vote! The country we live in doesn’t want the Republicans in the White House! They don’t want them running this country! We’re the majority!”

It’s hard to say where Moore gets this idea from, considering that the numbers are all over the place, but a 2018 Gallup poll said more people identify as conservative than liberal — even if the lead is shrinking a bit:

Continuing a quarter-century trend, the term “liberal” continues to catch up with “conservative” as Americans’ preferred description of their political views. Thirty-five percent of U.S. adults in 2017 identified as conservative and 26% as liberal, the first time the conservative label’s edge has been single digits. Its nine-percentage-point edge in 2017 is down from 11 points in 2016 and roughly 20-point advantages at times in the past.

That poll was published in January 2018, so there’s really no telling what those figures would be today.  Nevertheless, this indicates that Moore — as usual — is flat-out wrong.

A June 27 Rasmussen study shows that Democrats maintain a slight lead on its most recent generic congressional ballot:

The latest telephone and online survey finds that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters would choose the Democratic candidate if the elections for Congress were held today. Forty-one percent (41%) would opt for the Republican. Five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate, and nine percent (9%) are undecided.

But things have not been going well for Democrats, and their latest efforts to foment violence and hate aren’t helping.  Add to that calls by liberals to abolish ICE, the agency responsible for enforcing immigration laws and calls by Maxine Waters to harass Trump officials in public.

Now, Moore seems to be advocating for more physical confrontation.

Perhaps to leftists…

This isn’t the first or only time Moore has advocated violence and revolution, by the way.
