Cheryl Sullenger of Operation Rescue reported on Friday that the Health Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee has scheduled a second hearing on Thursday, September 17 at 3:00 pm (EDT) concerning Planned Parenthood’s alleged illegal conduct of selling aborted baby parts.
The evidence of selling aborted baby parts was based on the undercover investigation launched by the Center for Medical Progress, which began releasing a series of undercover videos highlighting allegations of illegal trafficking in human aborted baby remains. The videos first surfaced in July and showed Planned Parenthood executives negotiating the best price for each fetal “specimen.”
“The videos, released so far, also presents evidence that Planned Parenthood illegally alters abortion procedures in order to ensure organs are intact and suitable for sale, and that the banned Partial Birth Abortion method is employed to ensure that the aborted baby remains are as intact as possible, suited for biologics company StemExpress,“ Sullenger reported.
The hearing, called “Protecting Infants: Ending Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Providers Who Violate the Law” will focus on denying Medicaid payments to abortion businesses that are breaking the law.
David Daleiden of The Center for Medical Progress released a statement on September 9, 2015 that said: “It is telling that the House Energy & Commerce Committee’s Minority Memo, drafted by Planned Parenthood’s political cronies, can only cite multiple contracts between Planned Parenthood affiliates and Tissue Procurement Organizations.”
“Which explicitly confirm that Planned Parenthood charges per fetus and per fetal body part for only high-quality procured tissue specimens but the Memo cannot cite any evidence at all of actual costs incurred by Planned Parenthood, “Daleiden stated.
“The facts are clear that Planned Parenthood receives substantially scalable payments for harvested fetus body parts, but there is still no evidence that these payments correspond in any way to any actual costs, said Daleiden.”
“Planned Parenthood’s political cronies, paid for with Planned Parenthood’s abortion and baby parts money, continue to abuse the English language and the credulity of the American people by shrilly insisting that Planned Parenthood’s admissions of payment for baby parts and alterations to abortion procedures are not evidence of criminal activity, said Daleiden. “And barbaric atrocities against humanity that the American taxpayers should not be forced to pay for.”
