‘Twitter thread genius’ Thomas Wictor: Judge Roy Moore signature inside Gloria Allred accuser’s yearbook forged

On Monday, Alabama woman Beverly Young Nelson claimed that Judge Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was a 16-year old waitress 40 years ago.  Accompanied by attorney Gloria Allred, Nelson claimed that Moore informed her at the time that he was the District Attorney and he signed her yearbook.  But, author and “Twitter thread genius” Thomas Wictor said on the social media site, the signature in that yearbook was forged.

“Unless Moore’s handwriting has changed, the yearbook signature is a forgery,” he said on Twitter.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Another Twitter user also saw the discrepancy:

Additionally, Wictor said  the restaurant where Nelson said the alleged incident took place was “forged.”

“‘Old Hickory House’ in Gadsden was never called ‘Olde Hickory House.’ The person who forged the signature got the name wrong.”

And, he said, “in 2011, the name was changed to ‘Smoke House Barbecue LLC.'”

But there’s more.  According to Breitbart, Nelson said Moore told her at the time, “You are just a child and I am the District Attorney of Etowah County; if you tell anyone, no one will believe you.”

But, Wictor and others observed, Moore wasn’t the District Attorney.  At the time, he was serving at the Deputy District Attorney:

“As of this moment,” Wictor said, “I can find no evidence that the accusations being made against Roy Moore have any validity.”

Wictor went on to poke a number of holes into the allegations made against Moore on his Twitter feed.

The Moore campaign pre-emptively responded to the allegations, Breitbart said, with a statement issued by campaign Chairman Bill Armistead:

Gloria Allred is a sensationalist leading a witch hunt, and she is only around to create a spectacle. Allred was the attorney who claims credit for giving us Roe v. Wade which has resulted in the murder of tens of millions of unborn babies.

We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again: Judge Moore is an innocent man and has never had any sexual misconduct with anyone. This is a witch hunt against a man who has had an impeccable career for over 30 years and has always been known as a man of high character.

Let it be understood: the truth will come forward, we will pursue all legal options against these false claims and Judge Moore will be vindicated.

Breitbart added:

A prominent plaintiff’s attorney and proponent left-wing social causes for decades, Allred also pursued a lawsuit against then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, representing three women who claimed last year that he sexually assaulted them. Around the same time the suit was filed, Allred was also serving as a delegate for Hillary Clinton at the Democratic National Convention.

Moore responded to the allegations, saying he doesn’t know the woman making the claim:

“Thank ya’ll for being here tonight. Thank-you to all the people have came out at this late hour and for being here. I want to address what’s been brought out on television today by Gloria Allred and a client she has about things I allegedly did. I want to make it perfectly clear, the people of Alabama know me, they know my character, they know what I’ve stood for in the political world for over 40-years. I can tell you without hesitation, this is absolutely false. I never did what she said I did. I don’t even know the woman. I don’t know anything about her. I don’t even know where the restaurant is or was. If you look at this situation you’ll see because I’m eleven or ten points or eleven points ahead, this race being just 28 days off, that this is a political maneuver and has nothing to do with reality. It’s all about politics.”

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has stated that he believes the accusations and has called on Moore to step aside.  Moore, however, said McConnell is the one who should step down:

As we reported earlier, Moore has indicated he intends to take legal action against the Washington Post.  Will he also go after Allred and her client?  After all, if it turns out the signature really is a forgery as Wictor says, this goes beyond civil action…
