Tucker Carlson Out at Fox News? Fox Parts Ways With Tucker Effective Immediately

Carlson is...was the most popular host at the network

Just as Tucker Carlson began his third season as a Fox News host for “Tucker Carlson Today,” a streaming section on Fox Nation, he and the network have agreed to part ways, effective immediately.  It is unclear whether he was let go as a result of the $787.5M settlement to Dominion, or a voluntary situation. Unfortunately for the network, Tucker Carlson has been one of its most popular hosts. He has been with the network since 2016 and has hosted “Tucker Carlson Tonight” since then.

He was the replacement for Bill O’Reilly who was let go in a similar fashion. He also mentioned privately that he was not a fan of former President Trump, which would likely not have made any difference in being let go.

Tucker Carlson has often sparked controversy, particularly after airing footage from the January 6th riot that revealed police escorting some of the so-called “insurrectionists” into the Capitol. Was he let go or did he voluntarily leave? Was there an argument with the network? Democrats have long called for him to be censured and outright fired.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

There will be no farewell show, as the network stated flatly that his last show was Friday, April 21.

“Beyond the news itself, what’s really bizarre and eyebrow-raising about Tucker’s departure from Fox is that they aren’t even giving him a final appearance to say goodbye to viewers or tell them about whatever he’s doing next. They’re just disappearing him.” Yair Rosenberg, Staff writer at The Atlantic

This announcement was made just before CNN announced they were letting Don Lemon go. It appears to be a sort of bloodbath across the most popular network (Fox) and the least popular (CNN).

Recently, Fox News also cut Dan Bongino from “Unfiltered.” There may be some underlying situation of which we are not aware, but as the media outlets speculate on the possible messy break up, it has left us all wondering. Tucker Carlson was an absolute “ratings magnet” for the network.

“All true: 1-Tucker is good at what he does & will be hard to replace, so in the short run, this is bad for Fox. 2-The time slot is more valuable than Tucker is. Whoever ultimately fills it will get good ratings. 3-Rebuilding w/o Tucker might make Fox stronger long term.” Dan McLaughlin, writer for National Review

Will it make Fox News stronger in the long term? Because short term it appears to be a total mess. Tucker Carlson has done some of the best reports on everything from the “eating bugs” concept by elitists to other controversial topics.
