Trump declares independence from fake news media: ‘Their agenda is not your agenda’

While speaking at a “Celebrate Freedom Rally” at the Kennedy Center on Saturday, President Trump ripped the so-called “mainstream media,” calling them “dishonest” and telling the crowd that “their agenda is not your agenda,” Breitbart.com reported Sunday.

“The fake media is trying to silence us but we will not let them,” he said. “The people know the truth. The fake media tried to stop us from going to the White House, but I’m president and they’re not.”

“The dishonest media will not stop us from accomplishing our objectives on behalf of the American people,” he added, recalling his own election victory. “Their agenda is not your agenda.”

Breitbart added:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The president said that the press “destroyed themselves” by revealing their true intent to the American people.

“Instead of being subtle and smart, they used the hatchet and the people saw it right from the beginning,” he said.

Trump’s anti-media remarks are the latest of a series of attacks on the press. On Twitter, Trump vowed to continue fighting the media and battling on social media.

The president also took his message to Twitter, which almost always is enough to send media propagandists into a frenzy.

“The FAKE & FRAUDULENT NEWS MEDIA is working hard to convince Republicans and others I should not use social media – but remember, I won,” he said.

Unhinged Hollywood leftist Rosie O’Donnell chimed in, repeating the Trump-Russia conspiracy theory while claiming that Trump really didn’t win the 2016 election:

Trump also declared victory over his primary media nemesis — CNN — on Twitter after a series of videos were released by Project Veritas.

“I am extremely pleased to see that CNN has finally been exposed as Fake News and garbage journalism,” he wrote on Twitter on Saturday. “It’s about time!”

Breitbart noted:

CNN fired three journalists after they published, retracted, and apologized for a Russia story after Breitbart News challenged the network’s faulty reporting.

James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas network released a series of embarrassing videos of network employees, calling into question their journalistic integrity.

Trump also disparaged CNN during a fundraiser for the Republican National Committee at his hotel in Washington, DC.

“These are really dishonest people. Should I sue them?” Trump asked. “I mean, they’re phonies. Jeff Zucker, I hear he’s going to resign at some point pretty soon. I mean, these are horrible human beings.”

As we noted here, a CNN producer is seen in one video admitting the Trump-Russia collusion story is “bulls**t.”  The same producer also attacked American voters as “stupid” and further said the network purposefully gives short shrift to other important stories in order to focus on the Russia conspiracy theory for ratings.

Despite what leftists claim, the fact is — as TK Whiteman pointed out earlier — that the so-called “mainstream media,” known here as the “Democrat-media complex,” has spent literally hundreds of minutes on the fake Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy theory while barely mentioning the economy:

In total, the study reviewed the content of 364 evening news stories on ABC, CBS and NBC which covered President Trump and other top administration officials; 171 of them were centered on the Russia probe.

The networks concentrated on the Russia matter at the expense of important policy topics. ABC, CBS and NBC collectively spent less less than five minutes each on economic policy, trade issues and U.S. relations with Cuba.

Deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also observed: “Three minutes on infrastructure. Five minutes on the economy and jobs. Seventeen minutes on health care, and 353 minutes attacking the president and pushing a false narrative on Russia.”

Whiteman noted a few examples of good economic news being largely ignored in a number of newsrooms:

The AP, via the NY Daily News notes that “Samsung is investing $380 million in South Carolina to manufacture home appliances, creating an estimated 950 jobs over the next three years.” Furthermore, it was also cited, “BMW announced plans to invest an additional $600 million in an expansion, creating 1,000 new jobs over the next four years.”

Reuters cites, “SoftBank and OneWeb had announced on Dec. 19 that the Japanese company was leading a $1.2 billion funding round. OneWeb plans to use the funds to build a plant in Florida to produce low-cost satellites, creating almost 3,000 jobs at the company and its suppliers. SoftBank described its $1 billion share of the funding as the first tranche of the $50 billion promised by Son in a meeting with Trump. It is not clear whether the $50 billion SoftBank investment would be part of a $100 billion tech investment fund that the head of SoftBank and Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund had announced earlier in the year.”

It seems that Trump is right — again.  The media’s agenda, which seems to be “destroy Trump and get him killed by any means necessary,” is not the agenda of the American people, who want to see jobs, freedom and security return to the country after eight years of Obama.
