Video – Trento revisits his interview with radical Islamist Anjem Choudary
Tom Trento, founder of The United West, re-visits his interview with radical Islamist, Anjem Choudary in United West’s one-year recognition of the first attack by ISIS on U.S. soil that occurred at the Pamela Geller’s “Mohammad Art Exhibit”.
The first showing of the interview occurred and was streamed live on May 8, 2015, five days after the deadly attack, and Tom Trento and Anjem Choudary are ideological enemies but both are able to listen to each other without screaming, shouting, and as sound as military doctrine instructs, “Know your enemy.”
Trento said of the interview, “The purpose of this extended interview is to understand from a sharia expert exactly why Muslims have to kill people when they draw pictures of Muhammad. Listen very carefully as Choudary articulates the DOCTRINE of Islam, which provides the judicial basis for punishment including multiple lashes up to capital death.”
“In particular, Choudary attempts to walk a fine line between endorsing punishment through a sharia court proceeding and immediate implementation of punishment, vis-a-vis, the Garland shooting, “said Trento. “This is an extremely informative and important discussion that enables Americans to understand the complex and dangerous situation that people like Choudary and members of the Islamic State are creating for those individuals who want to exercise their First Amendment rights guaranteed under the US Constitution.”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The “Mohammad Art Exhibit” event featured speeches by Pamela Geller, president of the AFDI, and Geert Wilders, a Dutch lawmaker known for his outspoken criticism of Islam.
Wilders received several standing ovations as he quoted former President Ronald Reagan and Texas founding father Sam Houston and Geller told the AP before the event that she planned the contest to make a stand free speech in response to outcries and violence over drawings of Muhammad.
The terrorist attack occurred in Garland, Texas on May 3, 2015 where two Muslim gunmen were armed with assault rifles and wearing body armor when they pulled up to the Curtis Culwell Center shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday. They began shooting almost immediately and wounded an unarmed Garland ISD security guard who was with the officer. The officer returned fire and killed the gunmen.
