Criminals don’t obey laws
Simpkins allegedly had a gun that he kept in his car, which is illegal for an 18 year old in this part of the country. Under Texas law, only those 21 or over are allowed to carry a gun without a permit, and especially not on school property.
Under Texas law, it is illegal for the shooter to have or purchase the gun used in the shooting at Timberview High School, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said at an unrelated press conference Wednesday. Ross added that the suspect was illegally in possession of a firearm on school premises.
If the fight is any indication, Simpkins needed anger management intervention prior to the incident. All the laws in the world will not stop people from a propensity to harm others, especially if they become angry. That also doesn’t stop all the anti-gunners from blaming the gun.
