The purge continues: Facebook yanks pro-Trump page after saying harmless anti-Pelosi meme violates rules

On Tuesday, Facebook, the social media giant that recently yanked over 800 pages and accounts in what can only be described as a digital “Kristallnacht,” yanked “Trump More honest than Main Stream Media” over a harmless anti-Pelosi meme.

“Nancy Pelosi just confirmed as the new Speaker of the House,” the meme said.  “Will be all over the news November 7th if you don’t vote red.”

FacebookElection Day is Tuesday, November 6th, meaning that the headlines would be all over the country the next day — nothing fake or offensive about that.  We searched and were unable to find anything in this post that violates Facebook’s extremely nebulous Community Standards.

After this dialog was displayed, administrators were informed that the page had been yanked.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

We reached out to Facebook for an explanation but have so far not received any response

As we and many others reported, Facebook yanked a number of pages last week, accusing page owners and administrators of violating its rules against spam and what it called “coordinated inauthentic behavior.”

Among the pages taken down were Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children and Right Wing News, a page belonging to triple amputee veteran Brian Kolfage, who has since threatened legal action unless the page is restored.  Kolfage had spent well over $300,000 in advertising with Facebook before the page was yanked.

“It’s just going to turn into a sloppy mess for them. I think they’ve underestimated what they’re dealing with, attacking me, attacking conservatives in general, right before the elections,” he said.

Kolfage has since started a new website, dedicated to fighting Facebook’s Orwellian war against online conservative speech.  That site can be seen here.

Owners of Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children tried creating a second page in hopes of attracting its more than two million followers, but Facebook shut that page down as well, claiming the site’s logo — which has been in use for years — violates their Community Standards.

“Both Rick Ferran, the page owner, and myself were banned for posting our own logo, which they said ‘violated’ their arbitrary community standards. Only I have NEVER posted our logo. Ever. Not even once. And I’ve been with Uncle Sam’s since 2013,” Faye Higbee wrote.

“They are SILENCING our voices. They are MANIPULATING the Elections. To hell with Russia and China, FACEBOOK is the one doing the meddling,” she added.
