The Coup Attempt Against Trump Continues: Pelosi, Dems Push 25th Amendment to Oust President — A Push For Civil War?

On Thursday, Dave Workman reported that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced that she would be discussing the use of the 25th Amendment in an effort to force President Trump from office on Friday.

The same day, Breitbart reported that Pelosi and Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., will introduce a measure on Friday to create a commission to evaluate the president for removal from office under the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.

Pelosi also claimed Trump is in an “altered state.”

According to Breitbart:

The new bill, revealed in a media advisory, would create a Commission on Presidential Capacity to Discharge the Powers and and Duties of Office, to “ensure effective and uninterrupted leadership in the highest office” of government.

Earlier Thursday, Pelosi hinted at a plot to remove President Donald Trump from office under the 25th Amendment.

“Tomorrow, by the way, tomorrow — come here tomorrow. We’re going to be talking about the 25th Amendment,” she told reporters.

This comes less than a month before an election that will determine whether or not America remains a free, Constitutional Republic, or will further slide into socialist tyranny.

It also comes at a time when about a third of voters believe America is on the brink of a second bloody civil war, something the left has been deliberately pushing ever since Trump was elected.

In June, Breitbart reported:

A Rasmussen Reports poll released Monday reveals that 34 percent of likely U.S. voters think the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years, but that includes only nine percent who say it is “very likely.”

“This compares to 31 percent and 11 percent respectively two years ago,” Rasmussen reported.

When divided by party, 40 percent of Republicans said a second civil war was “on the horizon,” while 28 percent of Democrats said the same. Among voters not affiliated with either party, 38 percent see the possibility of a civil war.

With all that has happened since then, there’s no telling how high that number is now.

The 25th Amendment states:

Section 1

In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

Section 2

Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

Section 3

Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.

Section 4

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Having failed to incite the assassination of the president, and having failed all efforts to oust him through a seditious coup d’etat and impeachment, the Democrats will now try to remove him by twisting the text of the Constitution.

But will it work? Breitbart’s Joel B. Pollack says, no:

Pelosi’s commission would not be created until passed by the Senate and signed into law by the president.

Her proposal has no chance of becoming law under Trump. The Speaker appears to be exploiting Trump’s recent coronavirus diagnosis to create a sense of instability around the administration prior to the election, though the president is recovering and is showing no further symptoms of the illness.

It’s clear the Democrats are desperate. They know that even with a horribly-biased liberal media, Joe Biden cannot win a fair election against Donald Trump. So, they’re attempting to muddy the waters.

At best, Pelosi and her fellow conspirators seek to create a constitutional crisis. At worst, their efforts could spark a second bloody civil war. If this effort fails — and it looks like it very well could — and if Donald Trump wins in November, what will they do next? Will they hire an assassin to take Trump out? At this point, it seems that anything is possible.

On the flip side, Breitbart noted:

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told conservative radio host Mark Levin on Thursday evening that he would create his own commission to evaluate Pelosi’s “mental capacity to be Speaker of the House.”

They should do more than that. Much more. They should consider formal charges of seditious conspiracy and deal with this once and for all.
