Israel shares a short border with Southern Syria. On Wednesday, Druze leaders requested IDF help after Syrian jihadists massacred hundreds of them in clashes between Syria, Bedouin, and Druze. The IDF struck Damascus’ Ministry of Defense, and a spot near the presidential palace.
Israel ramped up airstrikes in Syria on Wednesday following reports that members of the Druze religious minority were being massacred by militant Islamists, shining a spotlight on a unique community that has lived in the region for more than a thousand years and remains tightly connected despite being scattered across international borders.
Around 150,000 Druze live in Israel’s north and on the Golan Heights, but there are also large communities in Syria and Lebanon – neighboring countries that have technically been at war with Israel for decades – and a smaller group in Jordan. Fox
The clashes occurred when about a thousand Druze breached the border into Syria in order to rescue their brothers and sisters that were under attack. Despite the “friendliness ” of the new Syrian leader al-Sharaa, his background is jihadist. Word has trickled out of attacks against the Christian minority as well. The IDF acted to stop the massacres and prevent further attacks.

“Syrian Human Rights Organization reports that more than 250 Druze have been massacred since the latest attacks. There are reports that the government backed terrorists have kidnapped and raped girls under the age of 10 in front of their parents. It’s October 7th all over again.
Supply of food, water, basic necessities for the Druze have been cut off.
Syrian forces were ostensibly sent to protect the Druze minority and they are filming their activity. However, as soon as the TV cameras are turned off, the very same troops then start committing atrocities against the Druze civilians.
The Druze are asking the IDF to continue intervening to stop the massacres.

Israel takes defending its people seriously, and the Druze are loyal people. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the fighting would stop soon, however, he described the conflict as a centuries-old “rivalry.” He’s wrong. Jihadists want subjugation. That’s not rivalry.
