On Thursday morning, the Supreme Court issued three Unanimous rulings that involved Conservative values. Three unanimous rulings. It was a total switch. Even Justice Jackson joined in the rulings.
- The court ruled that civil law protects heterosexual white people from discrimination.
- The First amendment protects Catholic Charities from religious discrimination.
- Mexico cannot sue US firearms makers.
“The unanimous and nearly unanimous decisions again contradict the common narrative about a hopelessly ideologically divided court — often an excuse for those who want to pack the Court. The agreement of the Court shows how the majority of cases do not follow the sharp ideological division played up in the press. We are likely to see such splits among some of the remaining cases, but the Court is not the robotically divided body that is often portrayed in press.” Jonathan Turley

It is a rare day in which the Supreme Court unanimous rulings. We learned that Justices Kagan and Jackson aren’t as impossible to deal with as we first thought. There is hope.
