When kids began bringing their assignments home, their parents were alarmed. The school spent no time talking about Christianity and that’s in a state where Christians make up 80% of the population and Muslims only make up 1%.
Brandee Porterfield, who has a daughter in the 7th grade, was outraged when she saw her daughter’s assignment. She was studying the five pillars of Islam. She was especially upset when she found out that her daughter was forced to write, “Allah is the only God.”
Now, I ask you, if you are only studying Islam as a contrast to Christianity, why would you need to write a blasphemous sentence such as that?
