Still Winning: House Unable to Override Trump’s Veto over National Emergency

You know, sometimes the best laid plans of Democrats can come to a bad end. The House attempt to override the President’s veto of his emergency declaration failed. Uh,oh it’s really been a bad week for Democrats. Since the House failed, the Senate will not attempt to override his veto. His declaration of National Emergency at the Border will stand.

Thank you to the House Republicans for sticking together and the BIG WIN today on the Border. Today’s vote simply reaffirms Congressional Democrats are the party of Open Borders, Drugs and Crime!

The Pentagon today transferred to the President $1 Billion to start building 57 miles of border wall. They have been working to find projects that could be put off or cut entirely in order to find the money for the border wall. Sorry, Nancy, we’re building the wall anyway.
Congressional Democrats called the President’s declaration “lawless” because Congress is set as the entity that holds the purse strings for everything. But when they refused to secure our nation’s borders against constant “migrant caravans” and thousands of illegals pouring into the country, the President had little choice. The Border authorities were overwhelmed, exhausted and DHS Secretary Nielsen kept asking for a wall. Congress ignored their pleas.

The new area will be built between Yuma and El Paso.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“These funds will be used to support DHS’s request to build 57 miles of 18-foot-high pedestrian fencing, constructing and improving roads, and installing lighting within the Yuma and El Paso Sectors of the border in support of the February 15 national emergency declaration on the southern border of the United States.” DoD statement
Military.com reported
In a letter to DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen signed today, Shanahan said the specific border sections had been identified by DHS as drug-smuggling corridors, and the work requested by the department fell within the statutory description. He noted that the installation of lighting would include embedded cameras.
“As the proponent of the requested action [U.S. Customs and Border Patrol] will serve as the lead agency for environmental compliance and will be responsible for providing all necessary access to land,” Shanahan wrote. “I request that DHS place the highest priority on completing these actions for the projects identified above.”
The wall may be going up piecemeal, but it’s going up.
