Senator Rand Paul Accosted by Mob After Trump Speech

Last night’s conclusion of the Republican Convention was spectacular, from the crowds to the fireworks and the speeches in between. But a violent mob had formed outside the White House, and they accosted Senator Rand Paul and his wife about a block away from the White House. Other Senators and those who attended the event had to go to great lengths to get out of the milieu. (Fox)

“It was horrific. They’re attempting to push the police over to get to me, so at one point they push a policeman backwards, he stumbles and he’s trying to catch his balance and I catch the back of his flak jacket to stabilize him to make sure he’s OK because he’s our defense. If he’s down, the mob’s loose on us…

They were shouting threats to us, to kill us, to hurt us, but also threats saying shout, shouting ‘say her name,’ Breonna Taylor, and it’s like you couldn’t reason with this mob, but I’m actually the author of the Breonna Taylor law to end no-knock raids, so the irony is lost on these idiots that they’re trying to kill the person who’s actually trying to get rid of no-knock raids.”

Senator Rand Paul

Senator Paul and his wife Kelley and their two friends were directed by the Secret Service to get on a bus that took 45 minutes to get through the mob and were dropped off at the Trump Hotel.  The Senator had planned to get an Uber then to get dropped off at his hotel – which was just across the street from the White House. But the mob was so deep they couldn’t get through.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Since it was only 2 blocks to the hotel from where they were left off, they decided to walk. Big mistake. As they recognized him, the mob grew from just 30 to 60, and then exploded to over a hundred, according to the Senator. They found a small group of DC police and huddled close to them. The police formed a cordon around them and called for backup – but backup never came.

They finally reached their hotel, and some of the mob even followed them inside.

Senator Paul told Fox and Friends that he believes many of the mob were paid to come and incite violence.

“I believe there are going to be people who are involved with the attack on us that actually were paid to come here, are not from Washington, D.C., and are sort of paid to be anarchists,” he said. “This is disturbing because really, if you’re inciting a riot that’s a crime, but if you’re paying someone to incite a riot that person needs to go to jail as well. They were inciting a riot and they would have killed us had the police not been there.” Senator Rand Paul

Over the last few years we have seen that organizations ARE paying “protesters” to ncite the riots. The pay is crappy, but the result is a lot of mercenaries on our streets.

Senator Paul was not the only one to be upset by the violent mob. Rep Jim Jordan took one look at the mob positioned outside the fencing put up to keep them away and called another Congressional member who had extra security to ask if they could hitch a ride.

“What happens to Senator Paul if Democrats #DefundThePolice? What about you and your family? Your church? Your school? Your business?” Rep Jim Jordan

Let’s ask this question: why can’t our own elected representatives in a Republic, built on the foundations of liberty, just walk down the street in our nation’s capitol? They can no longer do so. It must stop, America. #VoteRed
