It seems that the city of Seattle, Washington, is at war, and it appears that the socialist insurrection has the upper hand — for the time being. According to multiple reports, Antifa protesters have cordoned off and declared a six-square-block area of Capitol Hill as an “autonomous zone.”
Breitbart and others have said the group has “set up barricades, and some have implied on social media that they will use armed guards to secure their occupation.”
Seattle @MayorJenny is allowing a dangerous situation to fester. #Antifa militants have taken over & created an “autonomous zone” in city w/their own rules. Police precinct abandoned. A post at the Capitol Hill Seattle Blog notes:
The first night in the so-called Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone that has formed in the wake of police giving up the week-long blockade of the East Precinct was rainy and peaceful and full of speeches from activists, agitators, poets, and socialist city council members.
“I guess whatever the fuck we’re doing is effective,” one organizer identified as Magik said over a megaphone early in the night as police were still clearing the area. “They are going to move up. They are going to get everybody out of here and we are free to move through these streets and protest and march.”
“Yesterday we were on 11th and Pine. Today we have victory on 12th and Pine. They tried to stop us!,” another exclaimed.
The report adds:
“The East Precinct will remain staffed,” the announcement concluded. CHS observed officers being dispatched from mobile locations away from 12th and Pine. The building is empty and windows covered with plywood. By morning, the wood was covered with graffiti giving the precinct an unexpected continuity with much of the rest of the neighborhood as many businesses are still in the process of reopening after weeks of COVID-19 restrictions.
The pullback and boarding-up of the precinct follows a Sunday night conflagration described by many as the most aggressive show of crowd control firepower yet by SPD that came only hours after a Mayor Jenny Durkan speech on deescalation.
Monday night, Durkan remained silent on the developments at the precinct until late into the night.
A post at RedState notes:
Occupy 2.0, but even worse and armed.
If they think that would stop a takeover if officials wanted to order one, they are gravely mistaken and it would not end well.
But far left Seattle would more likely simply cede them that part of the city. Too bad for anyone in that zone. My Northwest still called them “peaceful protesters” and some on the city council including their socialist member, Kshama Sawant, said they would support a 50% defunding of the police. Continuing to reward bad behavior and accede to radical leftists.

The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone. Folks in Seattle have secured six blocks of city atm, barricaded it, and gotten local businesses and residents to agree to, well, disaffiliate from Seattle basically. It's a flux state in the making.

And just so you know, this isn’t simply a protest demanding “justice” for George Floyd, or anyone else. We’ll let socialist councilmember Kshama Sawant explain.
“What we are seeing now is an uprising. A rebellion of young people. Not just nationwide but globally,” Sawant said.
So you see, this is an uprising — an insurrection, no doubt intended to overthrow the government.
Sawant, by the way, led a group of protesters to Seattle City Hall and let them take over, even opening the door for them herself.
According to Breitbart:
Kshama Sawant, a sitting member of the Seattle City Council, could be seen in pictures and videos which showed hundreds of protesters filing into city hall after Sawant allegedly let them in. Once inside, the Protesters began chanting “Durkan must go,” a reference to Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan whom the protesters believe allowed the police to use aggressive tactics against demonstrators, such as tear gas and other crowd dispersal techniques.

How far will this go? Who knows. Is it time for the feds to step in?
The Mayor and Gov. Jay Inslee are allowing anarchists to establish "Capitol Hill Free Zone." I think this is abhorrent.
When the local government fails to act, by calling out their NG it is the responsibility of the federal government to step in.
