Scientist Angers Left by Admitting Climate Change ‘Consensus’ is Fake

We are repeatedly told that climate change is an existential crisis that will kills us all and scientists agree with that in an overwhelming consensus… except there is no such consensus as one scientist is finally admitting.

“It’s a manufactured consensus,” climate scientist Judith Curry told the New York Post.

Curry added that a large number of “consensus” claimers are only looking for popular acclaim and more research cash, or as she put it “fame and fortune.”

As John Stossel wrote in the New York Post:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

She knows about that because she once spread alarm about climate change.

The media loved her when she published a study that seemed to show a dramatic increase in hurricane intensity.

We found that the percent of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes had doubled,” says Curry.

“This was picked up by the media,” and then climate alarmists realized, “Oh, here is the way to do it. Tie extreme weather events to global warming!”

“I was adopted by the environmental advocacy groups and the alarmists and I was treated like a rock star,” Curry recounts.

“Flown all over the place to meet with politicians.”

But when critics pointed out gaps in her claims, she went back to the data. And then she realized her initial claims were false. So, she began to reassess.

Then the Climategate scandal broke showing that climate scientists were working behind the scenes to amplify “facts” that probed global warming and hide the stuff that didn’t help the cause. And she realized that this “consensus” was fake. The more she looked, the more she realized that there was no overwhelming consensus among real scientists that global warming was anything like an existential crisis.

Now, the scientific establishment rewards and amplifies those who agree with climate change alarmism while refusing to publish papers or fund research for those who are skeptical. This, Curry says, proves the science is not sound at all.

“The editor of the journal Science wrote this political rant,” says Curry.

She even said, “The time for debate has ended.”

“What kind of message does that give?” adds Curry.
What do you think? Post a comment.

Then she answers her own question: “Promote the alarming papers! Don’t even send the other ones out for review. If you wanted to advance in your career, like be at a prestigious university and get a big salary, have big laboratory space, get lots of grant funding, be director of an institute, there was clearly one path to go.”

That’s what we’ve got now: a massive government-funded climate alarmism complex.

The “science” is backed by left-wing, anti-capitalist politics. Not science.
