While addressing a pro-abortion rally in front of the Supreme Court on Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., issued a threat against two Supreme Court Justices, saying they would, “pay the price” if they didn’t rule the way he wants on a Louisiana case dealing with abortion.
“I want to tell you Gorsuch! And I want to tell you Kavanaugh! You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price! You won’t know what hit you! If you go forward with these awful decisions,” he screamed.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts responded to Schumer’s clear threat:
“This morning, Senator Schumer spoke at a rally in front of the Supreme Court while a case was being argued inside. Senator Schumer referred to two Members of the Court by name and said he wanted to tell that that “You have released a whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You will not know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” Justices know that criticism comes with the territory, but threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous. All Members of the Court will continue to do their job, without fear or favor, from whatever quarter.”

Schumer responded:

Schumer later claimed he was referring to the political price Republicans would pay for putting Gorsuch and Kavanaugh on the court. Hogwash. Schumer clearly attacked two justices BY NAME! And he pointed AT THE SUPREME COURT!
Schumer spokesman tells me Schumer's comment is a reference to the "political price" Rs will pay for putting Gorsuch and Kavanaugh on the court as well as a warning that they will inspire a "major grassroots movement on the issue of reproductive rights against the decision."

Let’s be clear: What Schumer did was incite violence against two Supreme Court justices. No matter how he wants to spin it later, the fact remains that is what he did. And he should pay the price.
