The Second Amendment Foundation has entered its 18th week of cable television advertising with a recently-updated 60-second message warning gun owners about Joe Biden’s continuing desire to pass sweeping gun controls including a ban on so-called “assault weapons” and even 9mm pistols.
SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb told Conservative Firing Line his group is not putting words in Biden’s mouth. They include a video clip of the Delaware Democrat telling a television audience during a CNN “Townhall” event that he actually does want to “stop the sale of those things.”
The gun rights organization, which focuses on education and litigation, “is continuing the longest-running pro-gun rights advertising campaign in history, and next week will see the effort expand its footprint to several new cable channels, alerting American gun owners to the serious threat the Biden administration poses to their rights,” according to a news release.
Gottlieb said so far this year, SAF’s messaging, which has aired more than 800 times, has been viewed by more than 80 million people, including those who have seen the ads “multiple times.”
“We are going to make Biden eat his own words,” Gottlieb vowed.
The effort may be paying off. According to Rasmussen’s daily presidential tracking poll, 47 percent of likely voters “strongly disapprove” of Biden’s job performance, while only 21 percent “strongly approve.” This results in a -26 rating on Rasmussen’s Presidential Approval Index, which has come up from a few weeks ago, when it was -30.
Overall, 57 percent of likely voters disapprove of Biden’s job performance, which encompasses a lot of issues, including the economy, rising inflation and gasoline prices, and his handling of foreign affairs.
Gottlieb said the SAF message has, and will continue to appear on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax TV, One America News Network, Destination America, Bloomberg, BBC America, Discovery Channel, American Heroes Channel, SYFY (Science Fiction), TLC (The Learning Channel), TruTV, DirecTV, The Weather Channel, HLN, Dish TV, and CNBC, plus these additional channels: Great America Country, Outside TV, GAC Living, World Fishing Channel, TV Game, MGM-HD and RFD.
He noted the message has aired more than 800 times, has been viewed by more than 80 million people, including those who have seen the ads “multiple times.”
“The response from people calling our ‘800’ number is up over 25 percent since Russia invaded Ukraine,” Gottlieb revealed. “Americans were quick to understand the importance of our Second Amendment after watching the outrage in Eastern Europe, and they also realize the threat Biden and his cronies pose as they attack our gun rights.”
