Russian official gloats over Navy Yard shooting, mocks American exceptionalism

enhanced-buzz-12887-1379340926-18Early Monday morning, reports came out about an ongoing shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. that has seen at least ten shot, with four reported killed.

Adding insult to injury, Buzzfeed said one Russian official appears to be gloating over the shooting, mocking American exceptionalism.

Buzzfeed reported:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

A shooting at the Washington Navy Yard that injured several people Monday is “a clear confirmation of “American exceptionalism,” Russia’s parliamentary foreign affairs chief Alexey Pushkov tweeted.

“A new shootout at Navy headquarters in Washington – a lone gunman and 7 corpses. Nobody’s even surprised anymore. A clear confirmation of American exceptionalism.’”

And of course, racism…

“Pushkov is not the first Russian lawmaker to gloat at the U.S. on Twitter after the White House accepted a Kremlin proposal to avert a strike on Syria. Last Friday, a Duma colleague and former Olympic athlete tweeted a racist photo of Barack and Michelle Obama, then refused to apologize,” Buzzfeed added.
