Roger Stone: ‘Rogue prosecutor’ Robert Mueller ‘has more power than the president’

In a pre-dawn raid, FBI agents arrested Trump associate Roger Stone and charged with witness tampering, obstruction and lying to Congress in the special counsel’s Russia investigation.

After the arrest, he spoke to InfoWars through his attorney, Grant Smith, and said the country is now being run by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, a “rogue prosecutor” he says “has more power than the president.”

He also views the arrest as part of an effort to turn the United States into what he called the “new Soviet Union,” Breitbart reported.

According to The Hill:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Stone has been indicted on seven counts in connection with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference and potential coordination between the Trump campaign and Moscow. The charges include obstruction of an official proceeding, witness tampering and five counts of false statements.

A federal magistrate judge ruled late Friday morning Stone is not a flight risk and can be released on a $250,000 signature bond.

Prosecutors say that Stone made multiple false statements to the House Intelligence Committee about his interactions with “Organization 1” – widely assumed to be WikiLeaks, the group that released hacked Democratic emails before the 2016 election that U.S. officials later said were stolen by Kremlin hackers.

Stone testified behind closed doors as part of the House panel’s investigation into Russian interference, which the then-GOP-led committee shuttered last year.

After his release, Stone faced a crowd of supporters and detractors, with many shouting “lock him up.”

Stone was adamant that he would not “bear false witness” against the president.
