Rhode Island Dem claims Democrats not pushing Russian collusion conspiracy theory

While appearing on Fox News Tuesday, David Cicilline, D-Rhode Island, gave Tucker Carlson a good laugh when he actually claimed — with a straight face, no less, that Democrats really aren’t pushing the Russia collusion narrative — or conspiracy theory, depending on how you look at it.

The Daily Caller reported that Cicilline claimed “Democrats are hyper-focused on the economy and that it is actually Republicans who won’t stop talking about Russia because they are trying to hide their alleged lack of accomplishments.”

Wait, what?  What planet is this guy on?

“On the one hand you’re sort of right, that it does help Republicans, but this is being driven 100 percent by the left and to say otherwise is dishonest,” Carlson said.  “Part of you must feel shame for saying things that you know are not true.”

Considering that Cicilline is a Democrat, the answer would have to be a solid, “no.”

The Daily Caller added:

Nonetheless, Cicilline doubled down, asserting that “[Democrats] want this investigation to be completed!’

“You’re the one who talks about it all the time!” Cicilline added. “I’m happy to talk about the economic agenda of Democrats.”

Carlson couldn’t help but laugh as Cicilline continued to argue that Republicans are actually the ones responsible for pushing Russian collusion.

The Fox News host also pointed out that no American has been charged with collusion, the initial prosecutorial intent of the probe, Fox News Insider reported.

The Fox News Insider report further said:

Cicilline asked Carlson to speak with guests more about the economy and less about the Mueller probe.

“This is literally Orwellian,” Carlson later responded, saying that by Democrats like Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) trumpeting the Mueller probe it works counter to the goal of focusing on economic issues.

Cicilline suggested again that Carlson hold a roundtable debate on key issues with himself, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.), who he said chaired a special Democratic committee focused on economics.

“The Democrats are focused like a laser on economic issues,” he said.

Right…  Like how to take back the tax cuts passed by Trump and the Republicans…
