On Wednesday, Bloomberg reported that public executions could be used by Russia as a way to break morale in Ukraine:
Moscow has drawn up plans for ways to break morale in order to discourage Ukrainian from fighting back as and when cities fall under the Kremlin’s control, a European intelligence official said.
That strategy includes crackdowns on protests, detention of opponents, and potentially carrying out public executions, the official said on the condition of anonymity. So far civilians in Ukraine as well as its military have put up strong resistance, including arming themselves as volunteer forces.

An investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity against Mad Dog Putin is reportedly under way.
“I have decided to proceed with opening an investigation into the situation in Ukraine, as rapidly as possible,” Karim Khan, prosecutor for the International Criminal Court, said. “I am satisfied that there is reasonable basis to believe that both alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity have been committed in Ukraine.”
USA Today added:
The case against the Russians and Vladimir Putin is strong. They are in violation of international law for attacking Ukraine without provocation. While they argue they are acting in self-defense, such arguments are absurd on their face. Even were they not, experts note that Russia’s actions have been grotesquely disproportionate.
“Putin has embarked all of Russia on the path to infamy. Increasingly, the victims of his unprovoked aggression are not just the people of Ukraine but those of Russia as well,” USA Today said.
