Anti-gun Democrat President-elect Joe Biden reportedly “expressed skepticism” about the executive power he can wield once he is sworn in as the next chief executive, according to CNN, telling a group of civil rights leaders that some so-called “progressive Democrats” want him to do things “way beyond the bounds” of his authority.
According to a quote transcribed by The Intercept, Biden was explaining how he intends to undo all of President Donald Trump’s executive orders, but added, “I am not going to violate the Constitution.”
“Executive authority that my progressive friends talk about is way beyond the bounds,” Biden reportedly explained. “And as one of you said, maybe it was you, Reverend Al [Sharpton], whether it’s far left or far right, there is a Constitution. It’s our only hope. Our only hope and the way to deal with it is, where I have executive authority, I will use it to undo every single damn thing this guy has done by executive authority, but I’m not going to exercise executive authority where it’s a question, where I can come along and say, ‘I can do away with assault weapons.’ There’s no executive authority to do away that.”

But Biden reportedly cautioned the small group of civil rights activists, “And no one has fought harder to get rid of assault weapons than me, me, but you can’t do it by executive order. We do that, next guy comes along and says, Well, guess what? By executive order, I guess everybody can have machine guns again. So we gotta be careful.”
The conversation comes as stunning new revelations about the federal investigation of Biden’s son, Hunter continue to emerge, primarily via Fox News.
The cable network is now reporting that Attorney General William Barr allegedly knew about the investigation for several months, but kept quiet about it, according to the Wall Street Journal. He prevented the details from becoming public prior to the election, and many conservatives are now insisting that had the Hunter Biden investigation been revealed in the weeks prior to the election, the president would have won by a landslide.
The New York Post is also reporting on the scandal, and its coverage has been blistering.
Even more embarrassing is the damage now being done to the establishment media, which dismissed first reports of the investigation as bogus. Instead of eating crow, however, reporting on the growing scandal appears to be sparse and terse.
