Poll: Half of voters worried Biden can’t do the job

A new Rasmussen poll says half of likely voters are concerned Joe Biden can’t do the job.

Fifty-two percent of likely voters are concerned Joe Biden—on the job less than two months—may not have the ability to do the job, according to a new Rasmussen survey released Tuesday.

Newsmax headlined its report on this stunning revelation thusly: “Half of US Sees Biden as Unfit to be President.”

According to Rasmussen’s poll, only 24 percent say they are not very concerned about Biden’s abilities, and 22 percent are “not at all concerned.”

“At age 78, Biden is the oldest man ever elected president,” Rasmussen Reports noted. “Only 34% of voters say they are Very Confident that Biden is physically and mentally up to the job of being President of the United States. Another 14% say they are Somewhat Confident in Biden’s capability, while 10% are Not Very Confident and 40% are Not at All Confident.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The survey results come 24 hours after Biden had trouble remembering the name of his Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin, during a White House event. Instead of naming Austin, Biden referred to him as “the guy who runs that outfit over there,” according to Fox News.

Biden will reportedly make an address Thursday, but he has not had a press conference since taking office. However, his predecessor, Donald Trump, appeared at the recent Conservative Political Action Conference as the keynote speaker. He made hints about running again in 2024.

Seventy-six percent of those who say they are not confident Biden is physically and mentally “up to the job” are concerned the president hasn’t held a press conference.

Biden has been far busier signing executive orders than he has been communicating with the American people, critics say. He has been a longtime gaffe machine, but he now sometimes seems unable to pronounce names correctly, or unable to quote the Declaration of Independence one year ago during a Texas speech on the campaign trail.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women are created, by the, you know, you know the thing,” Biden said.

Last year, several Democrat members of Congress were reportedly looking at the 25th Amendment, which provides a mechanism by which a sitting president can be removed. At the time, many speculated House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was looking at a way to remove Trump, but lately, some observers have quietly suggested the 25th Amendment might come into play during the Biden presidency.
