Pastor to gun-supporting adults: Shut up and listen to Parkland demagogues
Referring to anti-gun Parkland demagogues like Emma Gonzales as “superheroes,” Pastor John Pavlovitz, author of “A Bigger Table: Building Messy, Authentic, and Hopeful Spiritual Community,” says adults who support the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms should shut up and listen to the children now marching against our fundamental rights.
Pavlovitz wrote (Edited for graphic language):
Teenagers have a really low tolerance for b******t, which is why they are speaking with such clarity and conviction right now.
It’s why they mince no words and reject every bit of verbal gymnastics about the 2nd Amendment, and about liberty, and about guns not killing people.
It’s why they unapologetically raise a strident middle finger to the sinful sham of “thoughts and prayers,” because they know that the friends and teachers they lost deserve a heck of a lot more than that.
…
This isn’t the time to tell us why you love your guns, or to share anecdotal stories about people stopping crimes with AR-15s, or to offer condescension to these teenagers, as if you understand something they don’t.
This is the time to shut your mouth and yield the floor to them.
This is the time to have some reverence, because you are the in presence of heroic young people.
He followed that up with this tweet:
“Stop trolling them.
Stop harassing them.
Stop victimizing them.
Stop verbally assaulting them.Shut-up and listen to them.”https://t.co/GbAeDOVwFr

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Apparently, Pavlovich thinks that educating and countering the insanity being presented by Gonzalez, David Hogg and others is verbal assault.
Twitchy noted:
So just shut up, OK? Oprah and George Clooney and Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg each put up $500,000 so these kids could have a microphone and countless TV cameras in Washington, D.C. with a little organizational boost from Everytown, so just shut up and listen.
His tweet didn’t sit too well with many:
They’re snorting condoms. I think I’ll pass…

These kids need to:
Stop trolling.
Stop harassing.
Stop playing the victim when they’re challenged.
Stop verbally assaulting people.
And finally, NO we will not “shut-up and listen to them”! We will listen, but we will challenge them on their positions as well.CC: @KyleKashuv

That’s called “dialogue,” but the anti-gun left has decided that only one side is allowed to speak.
Anotehr person suggested Pavlovich “shut up” and listen to Kyle Kashuv, a pro-Second Amendment Parkland survivor largely ignored by the liberal media.

Twitchy added:
Has Pavlovitz seen how quickly Kyle Kashuv has moved among legislators and the president in his bid for school safety reforms? He’s a superhero too, right? Tell Kurt Eichenwald to lay off if you feel compelled to tell someone to shut up and stop trolling.
I'm pretty sure people did try listening to them… pity they repeated the same ProMarxist talking points that have been used to disarm a population before mass killings before. But hey… keep advocating for policies that have led to the governmental murder of millions Pastor

i Have Listened: I've heard Shaved Guevara before, & #fascism always sounds the same. their childish tantrums, aided & abetted by the usual suspects demanding that I give up the rights I inherently possess. i need NO government to have them: they are mine a priori, so bite me!

I have listened. I've listened to them blame law-abiding American gun owners for the shooting, instead of ppl who really are to blame like Broward sheriff. They're advocating for surrendering their rights to the State…same State that failed to protect them in the first place.

The problem, as I noted here and here, is that we have listened to these kids. We’ve listened to them smear millions of law-abiding Americans while falsely claiming Florida lawmakers are “child murderers.” We’ve heard the constant stream of uninformed, over-the-top rhetoric from youngsters whose passion far exceeds their knowledge of the issue. And many of us simply aren’t impressed.

The left should first stop using them. https://t.co/ZrWcSX9CXI

We agree.
