Parkland activist calls for confiscation of all civilian semi-automatic weapons
Since coming on the scene, anti-gun Parkland activists have said they really don’t want to take guns from law-abiding Americans. But Emma Gonzalez — one of the most outspoken of the group led by David Hogg — let the cat out of the bag in a tweet issued Sunday.
In a series of tweets, she wrote: “Removing the assault and semi-automatic weapons from our Civilian society, instituting thorough background checks and mandatory waiting periods (and raising the buying age and banning the production of high-capacity magazines) are the ways to stop shootings in America.”
(4/4) Removing the assault and semi-automatic weapons from our Civilian society, instituting thorough background checks and mandatory waiting periods (and raising the buying age and banning the production of high-capacity magazines) are the ways to stop shootings in America.

The Daily Wire said her tweet was in response to the shooting at a Waffle House in Tennessee in which several people were shot. González, Ryan Saavedra said, “immediately attacked the NRA and Smith & Wesson Corp.”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
She also claimed — falsely — that mass shootings do not happen in other countries, despite the fact that the worst mass shootings in world history have all happened outside the United States, Saavedra added.
The FBI defines a mass shooting as 4 people killed (not including the shooter). Mass shootings occur in churches, in schools, at concerts, in waffle houses – just about anywhere. Except in other countries. https://t.co/gf8k8UAy1k

Saavedra posted the six deadliest mass shootings in world history:
1. 2017 Egyptian Mosque Attack, 305+ deaths
2. 2015 Kenya College Attack, 148 deaths
3. 2014 Pakistan School Massacre, 141 deaths
4. 2015 Paris Attacks, 130 deaths
5. 2011 Norway Attacks, 67 deaths
6. 2013 Kenya Shopping Mall Attack, 67 deaths
A post at Bearing Arms added:
The only way to remove semi-automatic weapons from our civilian society is through gun confiscation. The AR-15 is owned by roughly 5 million people in this country. That doesn’t count those who own AK-47s, AK-74s, FALs, and other so-called assault rifles, or people with Glocks, 1911s, Ruger 10/22s, Remington 750s, Browning BARs, and so on. By the time you “remove” all of those, you’re probably looking at tens of millions of gun owners you will have to take weapons from.
Good luck with that one.
“It’s easy for Gonzalez to makes calls like this,” Tom Knighton said, since she’s not the one who will have to live with the consequences. “She doesn’t even have to try and figure out how to make it work. All she has to do is run her mouth and spout off platitudes.”
But platitudes, smears and lies is all we’ve gotten from the Parkland activists.
And it seems the biggest lie is the claim they don’t want confiscation. We’ve all suspected it from the beginning, but now we know the real truth, straight from the horse’s mouth, so to speak.
Knighton further note:
The reality of something like this is a logistical nightmare. Even if you
follow the Australian model for disarmament, you’re still banking on millions upon millions of weapons to be turned in. Even if everything goes well, that’s still a lot of weapons that will need to be disposed of. That many guns will also serve as a tempting target for criminals. That, of course, means incredibly tight security.
And absolutely none of this deals with the potential civil war that could be sparked with any kind of gun confiscation scheme. That is a reality, one that Gonzalez believes she’d be insulated from, but I’m not so sure. This won’t be guys in gray coats fighting guys in blue coats in what would pass for a regular war anywhere else. No, this would be dirty, and it would happen everywhere in this country
One person responded:
I hope you will be on the lines to confiscate the 300 million guns from the law abiding citizens you wish to turn into felons because you lack the understanding of our constitution or laws. Or are you all talk and no action?

Good question.
