Obama decides piecemeal is fine as long as the checks Clear

Harry Reid and Barack Obama have said they will not pass piecemeal bills.  However, today President Obama said he would sign a bill that would make sure federal workers would get paid even if they don’t work during the shutdown.  But he refuses to sign a bill to cover veteran affairs or pay for the National Guard or to cure kids with cancer. 

So why this bill?  Could it be because public sector unions donate so much money to the democratic party?  AFSME and the NEA both give 100% of their political contributions to the democrats as well as providing them venues for campaign stops and volunteers for various campaign chores.  I couldn’t find the figures on how much kids dying of cancer contribute to the democrats, but I’m guessing it’s not a whole lot.
