Samantha Power, one of Obama’s liars for hire, who was later promoted to a position where she would be able to unmask Trump campaign workers, has been found to do an usually large amount of unmasking but only during the presidential campaign. That makes it appear that the unmasking was political in nature and had nothing to do with national security.
According to The Blaze:
What is ‘unmasking’?
Unmasking is the name for the process of uncovering the identities of U.S. who that are “incidentally collected” during surveillance of foreign actors by U.S. intelligence agencies.
What did Ambassador Power do?
According to anonymous sources speaking to Fox News, during the last months of the Obama administration, former Ambassador Power requested the “unmasking” of U.S. persons at a rate of nearly one per day. Two anonymous sources said she requested 260 “unmaskings” at the end of 2016.
What does this mean?
Just the act of unmasking does not mean there was any malfeasance on the part of Power, but the rate at which she made these requests is leading some conclude that she might have been doing so for the sake of political leverage and not for national security purposes.
Experts in the field claim that the number of unmaskings she requested is both unprecedented and alarming. Taking into account that she requested 260 unmaskings just as Obama was leaving office, destroys the narrative that she was doing anything but opposition research for the Democrats. The second thing we should take away from this is since nothing came out of the unmasking, all claims made by the liberals is nothing more than a combination of BS and wishful thinking.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) revealed some disturbing facts in a letter he sent to Senate counterpart Dan Coates:
“[T]his Committee has learned that one official, whose position has no apparent intelligence-related function, made hundreds of unmasking requests during the final year of the Obama Administration,” he continued. (Powers?)
Nunes claimed several of the requests appeared to be lacking in justification for the information sought. He noted that some requests were followed upon by leaks to the media, implying Obama administration officials were the sources of those leaks.
The congressman also connected these unmasking requests to the Trump transition team.
“Obama-era officials sought the identities of Trump transition officials within intelligence reports,” he wrote. “However, there was no meaningful explanation offered by these officials as to why they needed or how they would use this U.S. person information.”
The thing I found most interesting in Nunes’ letter is the fact that some of the unmasking and leaks coincide, which means either Power leaked the information or she mad3e it possible for someone else to leak it. Either way it’s a felony and those who were unmasked could also have a civil case against Powers.
But in order to see Power go before a judge, one of two things need to happen. Either Sessions must resign or Trump has to fire him. Sessions refused to prosecute Lois Lerner, Loretta Lynch, Hillary Clinton and James Comey, so it’s doubtful he would prosecute Power.
