NY Gov Hochul signed a bill on Tuesday that requires toy guns to be brightly colored and bans any toys of the variety that look like real guns. She and her comrades believe it will help to stop gun violence. There are plenty of real guns wielded by real criminals that will show her Royal Progressiveness that it will do nothing whatsoever to stop gun violence.

Governor Hochul has signed new legislation, toughening restrictions on “imitation weapons”.
The law specifies that imitation weapons must be easily identifiable. They can not be black, blue, silver or aluminum.
It must also be colored white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright blue, bright pink, bright purple, or be made entirely of transparent or translucent materials.

“My top priority as governor is keeping New Yorkers safe, and that means cracking down on devices used to commit crime,” Governor Hochul said. “Restricting these realistic-looking devices will ensure misleading and potentially dangerous devices are off our streets, keeping kids, law enforcement and all New Yorkers safe.”
According to the Governor’s office, there have been 63 instances of a toy gun being mistaken for a real gun, 8 of them fatal, in New York. Of the high numbers of crimes in New York, those are barely a blip on the radar. But NY Gov Hochul didn’t release the circumstances of those instances: were police officers involved and mistook a toy weapon for a real one? That has happened. Did a violent criminal have a toy gun and an armed citizen kill them? That has happened too. Maybe if she and her progressives would take the spirit of the Bruen case properly, instead of just ratcheting down on kids’ toys, crime might decrease.
Toy guns don’t kill people, violent criminals who aren’t locked up kill people.
But New York’s Governor Hochul has made it clear that, along with legislative majority leaders in the failed state, criminals will remain free to roam the streets even after they’ve been arrested with no bail and nothing resembling security for crime victims.
Hochul has angrily shot down calls even by fellow Democrat, Mayor Eric Adams, to let his city lock up criminals again.
