NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo issues thinly-veiled threat to businesses: ‘Revisit’ ties to NRA, ‘consider…reputations’

On Friday, New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo issued what can only be seen as a thinly-veiled threat against companies with ties to the National Rifle Association (NRA).
“The NRA is an extremist organization,” he said. “I urge companies in New York State to revisit any ties they have to the NRA and consider their reputations, and responsibility to the public.”

According to Reuters, the iron-fisted Mafia-like governor specifically targeted banks and insurers.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Reuters added:
Cuomo, a Democrat, noted that some well-known companies, including the insurer MetLife Inc, have ended some business relationships with the NRA after a gunman killed 17 people at a Parkland, Florida, high school on Valentine’s Day.
The governor directed New York’s Department of Financial Services to urge state-chartered banks and the more than 1,400 insurers it regulates to review whether their ties to the NRA and similar groups sends the “wrong message” to clients and communities.
“This is not just a matter of reputation, it is a matter of public safety,” Cuomo said in a statement.
The financial services superintendent, Maria Vullo, told banks and insurers in separate letters that “prompt actions” may be needed to manage reputational risks and promote public safety, at a time society “is no longer willing to stand by and wait and witness more tragedies caused by gun violence.”
Translation: Nice business you have there… Be a shame if something happened to it ’cause you don’t think the way I want you to. By the way, meet my friend, Guido. You can ignore the baseball bat if you straighten up and fly right, know what I mean? (wink, wink)
NRA lawyer William Brewer accused Cuomo and Vullo of abusing the public’s trust by “mounting a blacklisting campaign that seeks to deprive Second Amendment advocates of banking services and insurance coverage in the State of New York,” Reuters said.
Some reminded Cuomo that the NRA is the nation’s oldest civil rights group, but Cuomo doesn’t care about that. He’s running for a third term as boss — er, governor — and he’s doing everything he can to whip up his insane, low-information left-wing base.

Absolutely, it’s a threat, and in the opinion of this writer, thugs who issue threats like this need to be confronted and held legally accountable. Maybe businesses and gun owners should file formal charges against Cuomo — just a thought.
Seriously, though, it’s time for those who support freedom and the Constitution to stand up to these bullies and vote them out of office.
Or else what, Gov? That sounds like a threat. You gonna send some goons with baseball bats to shut them down?
