No Surprise: Team Biden LIED About Chinese Spy Balloon

Mr. ‘No Malarky’ is playing fast and loose with the facts? Oh my. Who could possibly have foreseen such a thing? Cue that Casablanca ‘I’m shocked’ GIF.

Let’s go back to what we were told back when we were all talking about the Chinese spy balloon.

The officials told lawmakers that the US has assessed that little new intelligence was gleaned by the Chinese balloon operation because the Chinese appeared to stop transmitting information once the US learned of the balloon, in addition to US measures to protect sensitive intelligence from China’s spying operations, according to the sources.
The US also believes what they have recovered from the shot-down balloon is beneficial to US intelligence, the sources said.
[…] “The Pentagon was telling us they were able to mitigate in real-time as this was taking place and I believe that’s accurate,” Rep. Mike Quigley, an Illinois Democrat, told CNN.”I believe the preeminent concern they had, as they expressed in real time, was the safety of US citizens.”
After the briefing, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said it was wrong for the Biden administration to wait to shoot down the balloon.
“They should have never let it into our sovereignty, they should have taken it another time,” McCarthy told CNN. — CNN

Alright. Let’s compare that to what we know now. Per NBC:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Yes

The Chinese spy balloon that flew across the U.S. was able to gather intelligence from several sensitive American military sites, despite the Biden administration’s efforts to block it from doing so, according to two current senior U.S. officials and one former senior administration official.
China was able to control the balloon so it could make multiple passes over some of the sites (at times flying figure eight formations) and transmit the information it collected back to Beijing in real time, the three officials said. The intelligence China collected was mostly from electronic signals, which can be picked up from weapons systems or include communications from base personnel, rather than images, the officials said.
The three officials said China could have gathered much more intelligence from sensitive sites if not for the administration’s efforts to move around potential targets and obscure the balloon’s ability to pick up their electronic signals by stopping them from broadcasting or emitting signals. -NBC

So you mean to tell us that we were NOT ‘mitigating’ in ‘real-time as this was taking place’? The Spy balloon hung around sensitive military installations, gathered data, loitering over them while doing figure-of-eight passes… and we STILL waited until it had completed its mission and was somewhere over the Atlantic?

The obvious next question is — who’s getting fired over this? But we all know the answer, don’t we?

Unless you can dig up a Republican or some rank-and-file ‘nobody’ to take the fall for you — precisely zero people will be fired.

And until we get some people holding politicians’ feet to the fire with the boldness of John the Baptist, nothing is likely to change.
