St. Cloud, Florida – Glenn Buratti is an autistic child who was looking forward to his 6th birthday party. All 16 of his classmates were invited and he could hardly wait.
“From the minute he woke up that day he wanted to know how many minutes until his friends came. None of the kids’ parents RSVP’d, but I was still holding on to the hope that some of them would show up. It never crossed my mind that it would be zero,” Ashlee Buratti
That’s right, no one showed up. But when Ashlee turned to Facebook to vent on the 10,000 member Osceola community page something magical happened: the members began to respond in an overwhelming show of support.

Osceola county deputies orchestrated a helicopter flyover, pooled their money, and bought Glenn some gifts. Strangers began to stop by with gifts, including one woman who bought Glenn a brand new bike.
The sheriff’s office dropped by later in the week with their SWAT van, patrol cars, and motorcycles to wish him a happy birthday. The Fire Department dropped by with a fire truck for and a helmet all his own.
The parents said they didn’t know how they would top this party next year. But they also mentioned they have not heard a peep out of those who were invited to the party originally.
“Huge thank you to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department, Osceola County Fire Rescue and Frank who owns Koffee Kup for coming to our house today for my son Glenn’s Birthday. He had such a great time!I’m sure the neighbors were all peeking out of their windows or taking cover. It’s an amazing thing for our local law enforcement and firefighters to do for us. Thank you to everyone involved.” John Buratti, Glenn’s father
