Christopher Miller was President Trump’s final Secretary of Defense in 2020. It was a short stint, but one that Miller says revealed horrific shortcomings in the United States Military leadership. Miller was not just your average flunky, he was a combat veteran, a Green Beret… a man who was on a mission to bring the military up to its mission of protecting the United States instead of being a social experiment for worthless leaders. He never got that chance, but wrote a book entitled “Soldier Secretary” in which he exposes many of the deficiencies in current military leadership.
Some short excerpts from the book include: “A huge portion of the current leadership in every branch of the Armed Forces needs to be gracefully escorted into retirement.”
“The narrative promulgated by the senior military officers about the Afghan Army collapse is totally wrong. I believe Chairman Milley, and the theater commander, Marine General Frank McKenzie, are either lying or grossly incompetent. I’m not sure what is worse.”
“The events of six Jan undeniably laid bare the true character of our ruling class. Here were the leaders of the legislative branch of the mightiest nation in history cowering like frightened children for the whole world to see.”
“I’m not looking to gain the plaudits of a national security establishment that has spent the last two decades losing wars in the Middle East.” [Mattis/General Dynamics, Dunford/Lockheed Martin, and Austin/Raytheon.]
Christopher Miller is right. It’s too bad that he didn’t say those things while still Secretary of Defense. But such is the danger of Washington DC, which protects itself at all costs – including the US Military.
Stuart Scheller, a US Marine veteran who also stood against the leadership and was court martialed for criticizing his command, had this to say:

However, if I could humbly offer one critique, America could have used the former SECDEF’s voice a year and a half ago while most of the veteran and American people struggled with “leadership’s” decisions. Part of me is happy Mr. Miller finally came forward with his observations, but the other part of me lumps his observations in with the majority of Americans and military members who only make observations once the truth is obvious and the risk is negligible. We’ve all seen the breakdown of true military leadership. Gen Mark Milley went behind a sitting president’s back to talk to the Chinese. A current Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin who demanded troops be vaxxed with an experimental vaccine that had devastating effects not just physically but cut our military forces down so far that recruiting became a disaster. Austin also mandated ‘woke’ training that has nothing whatever to do with readiness or warfighting.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Instead of lethality, the current US military is a shadow of its former self. Courage, honor, duty. strength…all have been replaced by rainbow bullets and pronoun training. It all falls upon the shoulders of foolish leadership. Will we ever be able to win a war again?
