Network Liberals Go Through ‘7 Stages Of Grief’ Over Collapse Of McAuliffe

The liberals on America’s networks ended up going through the “seven stages of grief” over Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s election collapse in the Virginia governor’s race, won by Republican Glenn Youngkin this week.

That’s according to a tongue-lashing that social media delivered as the anchors appeared stunned by developments Tuesday night.

The Daily Mail reported “liberal news hosts” were being “roasted” for their collective meltdown as reality hit.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“Hosts on MSNBC and CNN were unable to contain their shock at McAuliffe’s defeat, with Jake Tapper looking at a map of the election results and saying flatly: ‘Oh my God.’” the report explained.

And, it continued, “Commentator Joy Reid joined Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and launched an astonishing tirade against ‘dangerous’ Republicans, warning that voting for Youngkin – ‘a soft white racist’ – was a gateway to more ‘hardcore racism.’”

Van Jones on CNN described Youngkin, a pro-parents, pro-liberty, pro-business, pro-rights businessman, as the Delta variant of Trumpism.

He said the incoming Virginia governor is to the former president what Delta was to COVID-19.

Radio host Buck Sexton recommended listeners watch what was developing, “MSNBC is currently going through the seven stages of grief on an endless loop in real time. It’s great, highly recommend.”

Columnist Ann Coulter said, according to the report, “‘If you want to give yourself a treat, turn on MSNBC.”

The report said, “Pundit Stephen L. Miller joked, ‘It’s early yet but MSNBC is pulling a bit ahead in the election meltdown. Still waiting for returns from some of CNN’s more loyal viewers and the late night returns but Joy Reid looks to be pulling away early. Still too close to call though.”

“Melting down” suddenly started appearing on social media and Joy Reid on MSNBC claimed Youngkin’s stance on Critical Race Theory was racist.

Network host Rachel Maddow concluded, “Republicans are dangerous … They’re dangerous to our national security because stoking that kind of soft white nationalism eventually leads to the hardcore stuff – it leads to the January 6 stuff.”

It was Carl Cannon, the Washington bureau chief for Real Clear Politics, who came up with another list of seven.

That would be reasons that McAuliffe lost.

First was that he was unable to benefit from his previous term as governor, and was thought of as an “old familiar warhorse.” Further, he was unable to say why he wanted to be governor again.

Third, and significantly, was the fact he put himself in a position of opposing parents in the state’s schools. Famously, he said, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”

Then, additionally, when the race started getting close he doubled down on his anti-parents agenda, and even claimed that minority students are uneasy when their teachers are white.

The fifth reason is that Youngkin was able to distance himself from Donald Trump without rejecting the former president, his ideas, or his supporters. And, too, governor’s races in Virginia are traditionally hard for the party of the White House.

Lastly, he found, “Something was afoot Tuesday night, not just in the Virginia governor’s race — and not just in Virginia. In the Old Dominion, Republicans also picked up the lieutenant governorship — electing the first black woman to win statewide in Virginia history — while ousting a Democratic attorney general. In Minneapolis, voters overwhelmingly rejected a change in the city charter that would have restructured the much-maligned local police department. In Buffalo, a socialist who had won the Democratic primary for mayor was defeated by a write-in vote that went overwhelmingly to the incumbent. New York City’s new mayor is an ex-police officer who favors gun rights.”
