Neera Tanden, Biden’s Replacement For Susan Rice: A History Of Trashing Political Opponents And Israel

President Joe Biden announced Friday that Neera Tanden will succeed Susan Rice as his new domestic policy adviser. She joined Biden’s executive team in 2021 after withdrawing her nomination to run the Office of Management and Budget. She withdrew her nomination because it was apparent the Senate would reject the nomination. The Senate couldn’t support Tanden mainly because of her nasty tweets about members of the upper house. A secondary reason was her anti-Semitic and anti-Israel writing and comments.

When Tanden was nominated for OMD director, Politico wrote about her nasty tweets:

The internet is overflowing with snarky diatribes about Senators Susan Collins and Ted Cruz, and Mitch McConnell. A veteran political player, who might someday need Cruz or Collins or McConnell for a vote, should have known it would do her no good to pile on. And, on some level, she did know: In 2016, she told an interviewer, “I’m willing to concede I should tweet less.”

Tanden did what a lot of us do: She went for the dopamine hit again and again. Over the past few years, she tweeted that “a vampire has more heart than Ted Cruz,” compared McConnell to Voldemort, and called Collins “criminally ignorant.” It wasn’t just Republicans she angered; she was also known for tweaking left-wing rivals like Senator Bernie Sanders ,suggesting in one tweet that Russia had helped Sanders in the 2016 election.

But NY Senator Chuck Schumer continues to fight for her despite Neera Tanden’s anti-Israel history. OMD Neera Tanden era

A faux-supporter of Israel, Chuck Schumer’s comments were impressive because the Senator usually supports any anti-Semite who can get him one vote. For example, he was at a party for Jew-hater Al Sharpton and gushed that America needs Sharpton.

The day after the 2015 Israeli election, when Netanyahu won a surprise victory, Hillary’s adviser and President of the Center for American Progress, Neera Tanden, responded to a John Podesta note calling the Israeli govt ruthless wingnuts.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Ms. Tanden’s tenure as the Center for American Progress (CAP) head was marked by Antisemitism. In the lead-up to the 2012 election, Politico published a piece about how CAP, led by Tanden, was fighting to change the Democratic Party to the anti-Israel party (it worked). CAP bloggers’ stories appeared in the vehemently anti-Israel terrorist-supporting publication The Electronic Intifada. CAP bloggers have also accused American Jews of dual loyalty, calling them “Israel-Firsters.”

“There are two explanations here – either the inmates are running the asylum or the Center for American Progress has made a decision to be anti-Israel,” said Josh Block, who at the time was AIPAC’s spokesman.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Center went further than AIPAC. He called the Tanden-led CAP anti-Semitic:

….When it comes to the charges of being “Israel Firsters” and having “dual loyalty,” we not only plead innocent but also counter-charge that these sponsored bloggers are guilty of dangerous political libels resonating with historic and toxic anti-Jewish prejudices.

These odious charges have been around since Henry Ford in 1920 said, “Wars are the Jews’ harvest,” Charles Lindbergh in 1940 condemned Jews for conspiring to plunge America into World War II, and “Jewish neocons” were charged with colluding with Israel to cause the 2003 Iraq War. Recently, University of Chicago Professor John Mearsheimer, co-author of The Israel Lobby and Foreign Policy, has descended to making the accusation that American Jews — unlike American Poles, Italians, Greeks, Turks, Chinese, Africans, etc., etc. — exercise a uniquely malevolent influence over American foreign policy. ….

The Rabbi finished with:

The Center for American Progress ought to stick to fair-minded discussion of serious issues about the U.S’. future. It ought to disown immediately “Israel Laster” bloggers who take the low road and drag down policy debates into the gutter of individual and group defamation.

Rabbi Cooper’s letter is a modern equivalent of Joseph Welch’s fed-up response to Senator Joe McCarthy:

You’ve done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?

Neera Tanden doesn’t seem to have a sense of decency. She labels both her American political opponents and the Jewish State of Israel. She doesn’t belong in the administration of Biden or any other President. But Joe Biden, a divisive Commander-in-Chief, doesn’t give a rat’s pitooey.
