Nancy Pelosi praises illegal immigrants for eight hours, puts fellow Democrat to sleep — Video
On Wednesday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., used her leadership position in the House to engage in a filibuster-style speech that lasted for more than eight hours, breaking the record for the longest continuous speech in House history, USA Today said. But while she droned on and on, singing the praises of illegal immigrants, Rep. Doris Matsui, a fellow Democrat from California, had trouble staying awake.
According to the Washington Free Beacon:
Matsui, 73, who has served in Congress since 2005, was in the House chamber to support Pelosi’s efforts. Pelosi began talking shortly after 10 a.m., using her right as minority leader to speak for as long as she wants, and has yet to stop. She has already set the record for the longest continuous speech in House history, according to the House Historian’s Office.
Matsui appeared to doze off as Pelosi continued to tell personal stories about Dreamers, illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children, in an attempt to convince House Republicans to take action on immigration reform.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
USA Today said Pelosi began her speech at 10:04 a.m. and ended just after 6 p.m. local time. Her speech was called a “protest” and not a filibuster, since no such mechanism exists in the House to stop legislation.
USA Today added:
House members are usually only given one minute to make remarks but Pelosi used her unlimited, “magic” minute, available only to party leaders to tell stories of those who aspire to become U.S. citizens.
She also spoke about the Declaration of Independence, the country’s founders and prayer.
The 1909 speech was made by James Beauchamp “Champ” Clark, a prominent Democrat from Missouri. He served as Speaker of the House and unsuccessfully sought the democratic nomination for President in 1912.
He lost to Woodrow Wilson.
Many observed that while Pelosi stood for illegals, she spent no time standing up for Americans.
Nancy Pelosi’s 8 hour 7 minute stand for illegals was 8 hours 6 minutes longer than she ever stood for middle class Americans

#Editorial: Remember this day in November, folks. Ex-Speaker Pelosi and the whole Democrat party went to the mat and delivered the longest monologue in US House history to enshrine President Obama's unconstitutional executive amnesty. It's like they NEED illegals. #EndDACA #MAGA pic.twitter.com/buIbJJRBnI
