As leftists throw temper tantrums over the possibility of the U.S. banning immigration from 7 primarily Muslim countries, Europeans have a divided, but more realistic view after years of unstoppable Muslim migration.
Ten Thousand (10,000) people from 10 European nations were surveyed by Chatham House. This is how they described the results:
“Our results are striking and sobering. They suggest that public opposition to any further migration from predominantly Muslim states is by no means confined to Trump’s electorate in the US but is fairly widespread.
In our survey, carried out before President Trump’s executive order was announced, respondents were given the following statement: ‘All further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped’. They were then asked to what extent did they agree or disagree with this statement. Overall, across all 10 of the European countries an average of 55% agreed that all further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped, 25% neither agreed nor disagreed and 20% disagreed.”
Is America headed for a recession?
One country that had a high percentage of agreement that all migration from Muslim countries should be stopped is Hungary:
In an article published on Feb 10 by Daily Mail, the town of Asotthalom in Hungary started having serious problems with immigrants in 2015. When the Mayor’s small town of around 5,000 people started finding migrants camped out in barns and gardens, then streaming thousands through the center of their little town, people cried out “enough is enough.”
Their 45 year old Mayor, Laszlo Toroczkai, introduced a “zero-tolerance” policy for migrants. A team of bounty hunters patrols the fence in search of migrants- and they are not nice to violators. Remembering that Hungary was once home to Communism until 1989, the border was once sealed by land mines, machine guns, guard dogs and violators could be shot. Perhaps Migrants should be wary of attempting to go there.
His zero tolerance policy called for bans on the building of mosques, making the Muslim call to prayer illegal, and banning the burqa and the ‘burkini’ swimsuit – locals by and large seem happy with his approach.
Viktor Orban, the leader of the nation of Hungary conscripted prisoners to build a fence along the border of Serbia- a fence complete with razor wire and “sophisticated” security. Thousands of police and soldiers also patrol the fence. Do they want more Muslim migrants? 64% said no.
The European rise of anti-immigration parties
Breitbart reported,
The survey coincides with the rise of anti-mass migration parties across the continent, many of which have promised to put an end to the mass migration of people who primarily come from Muslim majority countries as well as an end to Islamisation. Some, like Dutch politician Geert Wilders, have even called for a ban on the distribution of the Koran.
While the support for a Muslim ban comes primarily from the right, the report notes that a third of people who consider themselves left-wing would also support a ban.
