Mizzou student VP: First Amendment creates ‘hostile and unsafe learning environment’ – Video

mizzoufirstamendmentIt’s becoming increasingly clear that the University of Missouri is not a place for young people to get a decent education.  Parents should take note of this.

While speaking with MSNBC — the cable outlet we once dubbed the official network of insane liberal hate — Mizzou student body VP Brenda Smith-Lezama actually said the First Amendment creates a “hostile and unsafe learning environment.”

“I personally am tired of hearing that First Amendment rights protect students when they are creating a hostile and unsafe learning environment for myself and for other students here,” she said.  “I think that it’s important for us to create that distinction and create a space where we can all learn from one another and start to create a place of healing rather than a place where we are experiencing a lot of hate like we have in the past.”

One must wonder if she was referring to the hatred shown by a teacher who sought “muscle” to remove a journalist simply doing his job.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Mediaite added:

Smith-Lezama doesn’t say so directly, but one of the immediate implications of her response is that the First Amendment rights she’s tired of hearing about are responsible for “creating a hostile and unsafe learning environment.”

Video of her statement can be seen below:

The Blaze’s Kaitlyn Schallhorn reported:

The Mizzou student said the altercations between her school’s faculty members and student journalists could be heralded as a “teachable moment” — including for members of the media. She said that what the now-viral video of a Mizzou journalism professor yelling at a student journalist didn’t show was other members of the media who she described as “pushy” and “aggressive.”

“As student journalists, you cannot approach these situations with hostility and anger as it only escalates the situation,” she told MSNBC.

Apparently, she fails to realize that the First Amendment she and others of her ilk hate so much is what gives her the right to spew such idiotic nonsense.

One has to wonder just what it is Mizzou puts in the water…
