The White House confirmed that the Biden administration is conducting an “environmental impact study” to determine whether Michigan’s Line 5 pipeline can continue. Just like the Keystone Pipeline was destroyed by Biden on Day 1 of his term, this pipeline may also go the way of undue influence by environmentalists. It will be another major blow for US energy needs. It could even endanger Michiganders. The 12 Indigenous tribes are opposed to the pipeline, and a letter by Republicans supported the pipeline.
Michiganders right now are wondering, is Joe Biden going to bow to the radical progressives and endanger them this winter? Or will he fight against these extremists and their make-believe environmental issue? Because a lot of people aren’t talking about what this really means for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. One in five homes is heated by propane. These are our working class Americans, our working class Michiganders in the UP. That propane- 100% of it comes from Line 5. This just-in-time energy has got to be there for our people who live in an area that is below freezing for months out of the year, and Harris, we’re going into those months right now. That energy secretary you just spoke of, that’s a former governor of Michigan, and here she is, laughing about the fact that this could put people in a situation that endangers their lives.

Here’s what she’s talking about: Michigan’s Line 5 pipeline brings 540,000 barrels a day of propane/natural gas to Northern Michigan from Canada. The main point of contention for the 12 native tribes in Michigan is that it goes under the water of the Straits of Mackinac at the Great Lakes. But the pipeline has been in Michigan for 60 years, and is needed to heat the homes of Northern Michiganers. It already snowed in northern Michigan on Nov 2. Temperatures can drop to around 3 degrees F in the winter. It’s not particularly windy in Northern Michigan unless you count tornadoes, so wind power is not helpful. They could build a hydroelectric dam, but it’s unlikely to get any support since it’s a lake and not a river with swiftly running water. Nuclear power makes environmentalists crazy, so that’s out too. The only alternative is what they’ve used for the last 60 years: The Line 5 pipeline.

- Upwards of 60 spans of pipeline were improperly anchored, some since 1963. The 1953 easement called for anchors every 75 feet. Enbridge claimed without proof the agreement was 140 feet.
- Bare, vulnerable patches of metal were found on the pipeline by contractors six times in six different years.
- Enbridge ignored the curvature of its pipeline since oil began flowing.
After that occurred, Enbridge, the Canadian company that owns the pipeline tried to make it work by building a tunnel around the pipeline. They also invoked a decades old US-Canadian treaty. Now the entire project is on hold while the Army Corps of Engineers does an environmental impact statement. The Biden administration has not “made a decision” on shutting down the pipeline, but you can guess what it will be based on their radical agendas so far. Will common sense prevail?
Will the people of northern Michigan freeze to death this winter? How can they convert their homes away from propane or natural gas and what do they convert it to? Where would that money come from? Taxpayer’s pockets?
The Biden administration giggles and cackles its way through the problems of Americans like you and I. They do not care about families or American citizens. They care only about their agendas.
