‘Meathead’ Rob Reiner falsely claims Trump first president supported by mainstream media

While appearing on Friday’s edition of “The View,” former “All in the Family” star Rob Reiner falsely claimed that Donald Trump is the first president supported by the mainstream media.

“This is the first time also in American history where we have had a president — every president uses propaganda to sell a policy — Republicans and Democrats,” he said. “But this is the first time we have had a president that is supported by mainstream media. I mean, Fox is mainstream media. Between that and Breitbart and Sinclair and Alex Jones there are 40 percent of the country getting their news only there.”

Apparently, Reiner never heard of Barack Hussein Obama, who was literally deified by the media as “sort of God” nine years ago this month.  And who can ever forget that memorable November 2010 cover of Newsweek, which literally called Obama “god of all things?”

And keep in mind that studies show more than 90 percent of the coverage given Trump is negative.  Yet Reiner thinks it’s all positive, which makes us wonder what version of reality he experiences from day to day.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

According to the Daily Wire:

Apparently, the definition of “mainstream media” is a bit . . . loose . . . for Mr. Reiner. And he seems to conveniently forget that most mainstream media outlets — even ones typically considered moderate — have been heavily critical of the president. That’s in stark contrast to, say, the Obama years, which left the former president wholeheartedly believing he’d never experienced a single scandal.

Reiner did have harsh words for one leftist publication: the Huffington Post.

“I think the press let us down because I don’t they thought he could get the nomination, I don’t think they thought he could win. So they played it kind of funny. Even Huffington Post put it on the comedy page initially,” Reiner said.

They’re not exactly laughing now, are they?
