Matt Gaetz, the Rep from Florida who played a role in the removal of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, is thoroughly hated by the left, and even some Republicans. So, of course, President-Elect Trump has nominated him for Attorney General. Leftists claim he is “unqualified.” But there are some things the opposition is clueless about – and Gaetz isn’t the only nominee they are freaking over.
Gaetz is an attorney. He isn’t a novice:
“Prior to serving in Congress, Matt worked as an attorney in Northwest Florida with the Keefe, Anchors & Gordon law firm, where he advocated for a more open and transparent government. In 2010, Matt was elected to serve in the Florida House of Representatives to represent portions of Okaloosa and Santa Rosa county. He was chairman of the Finance and Tax Committee, where he authored and passed $1 billion in tax cuts, all while balancing the state budget and repealing or replacing over 4,000 regulations. Matt also served as chairman of the Criminal Justice Subcommittee, where he authored and passed some of America’s toughest penalties against violent sexual predators.” Matt Gaetz at the House website
Instead of the constant stream of politicians and attorneys who fall into the usual tranche of lefties, Trump has gone outside the usual crop of cronies and nominated people who refuse to play ball with the deep state. All they want to do is serve the country in the best possible way. But their path to obtaining the office for which they have been nominated is fraught with opposition.

Gaetz is well-hated in Congress. Those who worked with him in the Freedom Caucus are no problem at all. It’s the corrupt left who will likely stand hard against his nomination as Attorney General. But watching the freak out by Adam Schiff is pretty humorous with the backlash:
First the Supreme Court granted a president immunity for weaponizing the Justice Department.
Now Donald Trump wants to appoint Matt Gaetz as AG?
Confirming him would mean affirming the worst potential abuses of DOJ.
He must be rejected by the Senate.

Even with Republican majorities in both the House and Senate, the hatred against Matt Gaetz could be a huge obstacle.
